There's been talks of a meet in Ohio for midwest ppl. It's about 4 hours from IL.. eh 4 hours ain't so bad used to take 3 hours and 30 mins to go from school up to northern illinois

i was up in milwaukee for business last winter and my liftback handled the snow just fine for the two weeks i was there. i was using just the stock tires(goodyears) and still getting used to a manual transmission, but i didn't have any problems. i think it's more the DRIVER than the car in most cases.

I'm also getting used to MANUAL TRANSMISSION, and I had my first brush with inclement weather heading home from Chicago yesterday. I encountered some massive snow flakes through the Kenosha-Racine stretch of I-94. Not enough to accumulate, but my first thought was, "Well...here goes!!"

On a side note, I didn't kill the car ONCE while heading into Chicago and getting caught up in some stop-n-go traffic on the Edens Expy!! PROGRESS!!

Yup, saw snow in the air here, too. 'Tis the season, won't be long now til the "white death" falls with accumulation. I have a manual too (sedan) and have gotten used to the clutch. It had a little strange feel at first, but now its second nature and I don't think when I'm using it.

Glad you made it through Chicago, Ok. The only thing I hate worse than driving through Chicago in my car, is navigating it on my motorcycle.

Everybody dodge deer.. it is that season here now, too. No new bambi hood oranaments!

^^ I was pretty close to having a close call with a big Bambi yesterday. I'd rather hit big snow flakes than deer any day. Hopefully we won't have as much snow as we had last season.

damn, that's the first thing I would do is remove those silly dealer stickers.

Dealer stickers / decals and license plate frames r the first to go for me...

While in downtown Milwaukee on Thursday, I saw a Meteorite Metallic 3 dr LB with a
black racing strips off center, across the top. Wonder if that was anyone on here?

BTW, my first tank of gas yielded 41.1 mpg. Now that the temps are dropping,
I wonder if my mileage will start to drop, too. In SE WI, we have that reformulated
gas already. Price was $1.99/gal at the local station. Too bad I filled up Friday
morning at $2.09/gal. Oh well, it would have saved me a whopping 80 cents, as
I only put in 8 gals. There were 2 bars left on the fuel gauge. I have been babying
this new car and drive like the old man I am, so am happy with the mileage. :thumbup:

Ah, Eagle River. Home of the World Snowmobile Championships....well not in summer though.
We are one of few Yaris over here in Arbor Vitae, WI. West of Eagle River about 25 miles plus.
Ready to put on the snow tires for the season. Florida? Must be nice....especially in the next 24 hours expecting up to half a foot of snow here. Less trecherous than the rutting deer bounding out infront of my precious road skimmer. Almost greased a turkey crossing the road the other day. So close to thanksgiving, it was tempting, till I realized I would most likely have about $2000 in front end damage.:bellyroll:

Just back from a week up near Rhinelander, bowhunting and enjoying the northwoods. On the way up, fully loaded, in a horrible head wind at 70mph (following a buddy's truck, so not as easy driving as I normally do) averaged 38. On the way back yesterday, calm wind but cool air (following same friend) I averaged 42.5mpg at 70mph. Gasoline was 1.99 in Rhinelander, my fillup today in Germantown was 1.96. I love my fuel sipper and falling fuel prices! Saw snow up there.. and a little in the air here today. Winter is near. Have a great day everyone!
