I bought my Yaris 5spd sedan S on 8/2/06 for my job and 1yr later I have 150,000+ miles on it. The only thing that I have done to it maintenance wise, is 30 oil changes and spark plugs after 100,000 miles. I still haven't changed my accessory belt. Does anyone suggest that I change it? I get about 40mpg - 50mpg @ 50mph - 70mph. I only started modifying the engine after 140,000 miles. Mods include: Weapon R Secret Intake with a steel mesh filter instead of the Weapon R foam filter, Megan Headers, Dynomax Super Turbo Exhaust (kept the stock look), NST Crank Pulley, TRD Sway Bar, Tanabe Springs and Strut Brace, F1 Lights 16" Racing Wheels, 8000k HID's in the headlights and fog lights, Bellon Voltage Stabalizer, 2.5" Spinning Tornado, and Greddy Speed Cut Defencer. I must say, I think my yaris runs way better than the average yaris out there. For example on the highway I can keep up with an 07' Civic Si from 70mph to 110mph and after that, the Civic Si pulls away. That's 106hp vs 192hp. Not bad! I have yet to take my car to the 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile track. But most people that have driven in my car or seen my car run on the road, thinks it about a mid 15's car on the 1/4 mile. I'm open to suggestions and/or opinions.

There is an HP technician that comes and takes care of our HP gear and he lives 80 miles from us. The place that he will pick up parts is Bangor, which is 120 miles in the opposite direction. Because of that when he deals with us...which is once every week to two weeks he is traveling 120 to the parts, then 200 to us, and then 80 back home in one day...and that is if he doesn't have a service call somewhere else that day. That means 400 of course in just one day and he does that at least 4 days a week...when he deals with other customers in my area like us. Maybe this guy is a tech or parts runner....I love my Ryu Hisou however that is way too many miles on my baby too fast.

150,000 miles / (52 weeks X 5 days)=576.923 miles / 10hr day= 57.7 mph. This does not include lunch, gas or potty breaks. Not to mention city and rush hour traffic.

I guess it would if you spend the majority of your time on the "super slab" not doing much shifting to begin with. In our tractor-trailers we often perform clutchless up shifts just by using engine revs to match engine/transmission speeds which vastly prolongs clutch life.

Has a list of mods that makes his car better than the average Yaris out there. Mods cancel out average.

Hey guys,
I really enjoyed reading your comments on my 150k in 1yr. I will post a video clip of the odometer while driving as it was going from 149999 to 150000 for those of you non believers probably later tonight. I have pics of when it did 100k miles and I have pics and a video clip of it doing 150k miles. Yes, it is possible to do this amount of mileage in 1yr. I live in Florida. I use to drive from Miami to Tampa and back 5 nights a week for about 9 months. The drive was 7hrs to and from. An average of 550miles/nightly. Plus I drove the car during the day running around in the daytime b4 I go to Tampa at night. So figure and average of 600miles/daily. Now I drive from Fort Lauderdale to Jupiter twice a day and then from Fort Lauderdale to Naples in the evening. That's an average of 550/daily. I drive from 9am - 11pm Monday - Saturday. I do a lot of highway driving. I still have the original clutch and accessory belt on the car. The brake pads and rotors are like brand new and still has not even begun to cut as yet. I have gone through 3 sets of tires and are now on my 4th set. I got 75000miles from a set of Kumho. I rotate my tires every oil change, which is every 2 weeks. I buy my Toyota Oil Filters, Syntethic Oil and Oil Stabilizer wholesale. I use 3qts of 5W-30 syntethic oil and 1qt of oil stabilizer every oil change. The only thing that I have ever changed on the car is the spark plugs at 100k miles. I already spoke to Toyota Corp of America, and I'm awaiting a response from them as to what they can do for me. One thing I forgot to mention, the first day I got the car from the Toyota dealership, I went home, got ready for work and headed straight to Tampa. I put 600miles on the car in the first night. I drove the car @ 80mph fom 7hr straight without turning off the engine until I got back home. If anyone of you guys drive my Yaris, you will definitely say positive things about it after driving it. My yaris runs like no other Yaris I have ever come across.

150,000 miles is feasable in 1 year I would think. Now one time this guy told me he drove 975,000 miles in 3 months in his big rig and he expected me to believe that. He still to this day says he did it even though he would have had to average 451 mph the whole time driving 24 hours a day hahahahha, some people are just stupid but this guy seems like he may be honest about it.

I use to deliver unprocessed checks for Bank of America from one processng center in Miami to another in Tampa from April 2006 - April 2007. Now I pickup specimen from several clinics all over south Florida for a labatory from April 2007 to present day. In case you guys are wondering, the $$$ is well worth it. And the $$$ I saved on gas on a monthly basis by using this Yaris, I actually saved $$$ by buying this Yaris. I get anywhere from 40mpg@80mph to 50mpg@70mph highway driving. I do very little city driving. I use to spend $1600/monthly on gas using a 2000 Mazda Protege that I still have with 400,000 miles on it and never touched the engine except for maintenence reasons. With the Yaris I put $1200/montly. That's $400 savings on gas which is the same as a montly car payment.

I actually have a friend who drives a tractor trailer across the USA and he got a brand new truck in May 2006. When I bought my Yaris in August 2006, he had 44,000 miles on his truck already. When I hit my 1yr anniversary on August 2007, I had 152,000 on my yaris and my friend had 161,000 miles on his tractor trailer. I closed in a gap from 44,000 miles to 9,000 miles in 1yr without leaving the state of Florida, whilst my friend was driving across the whole country. Now isn't that a great accomplishment?

Wow! I thought my 50,000miles/year was alot. But my mileage is mostly city driving.

So, you're still on the orginal rotor and pad? And is the car an automatic or manual? If it's an automatic, getting close to 50mpg is amazing, even if it's all highway.

A word of caution, keep an eye on the quaility of the engine oil. The intake will let in more dirt into the engine and if it looks like it's getting bad (dark) well before the change interval, you'll need to address that asap.

If your job ever take you to Toronto, let us know, we'd love to check out your ride.

That's quite the mileage buildup. There was a Prius out in BC that was used 24/7/365 as a taxi and in two years it put on just over 400, 000kms (248,000miles) and Toyota gave the company a new Prius to trade for the current one so they could tear it down and see how components were wearing.

Also of note, I drive transport full time and would not be able to pack on the same amount of miles sitting in a Yaris! It does make a great third car.
