I was looking at the Yaris with the TANABE DF210's and I love the stance. Is there any springs out there that will drop the car a little bit more? Or is the TANABE about the lowest you can go?

As far as I know If you don't want to invest in coils , DF should be the lowest drop

DF210's are the lowest drop on springs that I know of.How you are going to drive it? Check out several posts on the different combinations other users have tried and how they are using their cars. Some swear by the coil overs...generally the ones that like to push their cars to the limit. Do a search on Tein basics. I personally have the DF,s and I love them.

i believe that the Tein S.Tech's have the greater drop.

hmmmm, i think i would go with the Tanabe's since my friends and family say my Tein and TRD set up is a little too stiff/firm/"bouncy" (in their words). but for me, i actually want it a little stiffer.

Tein is 1.9 drop,
if you find any other spring lower than that, then i'm too slow in searching..

can somebody confirm this?? i already send back my Tanabe DFs..
only because people here said Tein is way better,in comfort..less bouncy and better handling than the Tanabe.
last Friday night at the meeting,
i test drive a Yaris with that DFs..and it felt okay actually.
and i was surprise when the owner suggested to get the Tein instead.
Most people i asked in here said Tein,
Autobacs said Tanabe,
my buddies at VW Vortex said Eibach or H&R,
i pick Tein..!!

if you want it low, just cut a coil or two off the df's or teins or whatever. the ride will be bouncy and your shocks will die really quickly but you can put your car on the ground if that's what you're after.

cut coils do not make you car bouncy, and they do not kill your struts any faster... that is just being dumb.... that is like saying lowering your car is going to kill your struts and make your car bouncy....

lowering your call WILL kill your struts faster than if you didnt lower them.

obviously you haven't done this before. or maybe you are talking about aftermarket shocks. with oem shocks, first your seals die and leak oil and then you bounce around town. or, if you cut enough coils off and end up sitting on your bumpstops, then when you hit a bump at speed you have no down travel on the shocks which will also make the ride feel "bouncy". he'd be safe with cutting a coil or two, but if he starts bottoming out then the shocks will go soon after. the end.

No cutting coils here lol. Does anyone have a decent verus picture the picture on the Tein site has like 18's on it. Is there a picture of Tein on stock wheels or something? The Tanabe's looked like they tucked in this picture.

Cutting coils effects the spring rate....makes it harsher/stiffer for the same amount of travel. Think of your spring as a torsion bar....if you straightened it out and tried to twist it, (usng the same diameter rod) the longer the rod the easier it is to twist, shortening increases the force required to twist to the same degree of movement.

Tein is the way to go for sure. Eibach and H&R will always be what a VW owner tells you to get.. but they are far from the best. (not bad mind you) Tanabe are good but Tein sustains the normal ride of the car best.

once settled, my DF's dropped a hair over 2" all around.
some people like myself actually measure these things before and after...

Any companies out there plan to make a more dramatic drop? or is this about it?

Doubt it. Unless they package a spring/strut combo(matched set) for the front, and a spring/shock for the rear.
With DF's and over 25,000 miles on the stock struts/shocks, I haven't noticed any change yet in the ride, but I know these wont last forever.
If looking to go lower then 2", Id just suggest coilovers.

Yeah I'm not wanting to throw that much money in a DD, To bad ground control or someone didn't make a kit. I guess its Tanabe's for now.

For myself, I dropped my Yaris with 1,3" Apex and it's not as low as I wanted. Next summer, I'll buy TEIN coilover kit. Do not cut anything.

Has anyone installed Dampers on their Yari yet? I want to drop my Yari but also want the ability to adjust the ride height for daily commute and for highway runs.
Anybody recommend a particular brand? I was thinking of getting TEIN's Dampers.

...Actually, i might be talking about Coilovers instead of Dampers..... but which ever is used to adjust the height. : )

Few members here have them..
Megan, Cusco, Tein, etc...
Do a search on "coilovers" and you should see quite a bit.
