View Full Version : Molecular Paint Protection?

Hey guys...

I just got my new White LB, and am new on here.

Can anyone give any input about the "Molecular" paint protection the dealership is trying to sell me? It would be nearly $600 for the Yaris to be "sealed". Would this do any good? I think it mainly protects against fading and acid rain. Since it is white, I am a little concerned about stains from bird droppings, and trees. I have also seen the posts about the "thin" paint on the Yaris. Is this worth $600? Ideas?

THANKS!!!

John

DIY! Go grab some Meguiars #21 Synthetic Sealant (http://www.meguiars.com/?pro-liquid-car-waxes/Synthetic-Sealant) and give your baby some hand applied lovin'. #21 is a polymer sealant that bonds to the paint, so lasts much longer than natural waxes, and IMHO provides superior gloss and depth of color as well.

I seriously doubt the stuff they're putting on for $600 *cough* could be better, and a $19 bottle of #21 will give you years worth of applications.

That's what I was hoping to hear guys. That's a lot of $$$.

I am one of those people that hates to pay someone to do something I can do myself. Thanks for the #21 idea!!!

THANKS!
