Early Synthetic Oil

Is there anything wrong with switching to synthetic oil on my brand new Yaris' first oil change?

a lot of people will say to break-in your car with regular conventional/dino oil, then switch to synthetic. that's what i did.

assuming you are doing it at 5,000 miles wouldn't your engine be broken in at this point?

my first oil change was around 3k (which i think is broken in) with dino oil. then changed to Mobil 1 around 6k. heh. did that just to be safe, from what, not quite sure, but just to be safe.

I want to have my first oil change at just before 1000 miles. Why? Because I am obsessive and I know it lol. Now, should I not use synthetic at 1000 miles?

According to the manual the engine is broken in after 1,000 miles. I would run dino oil the first change and Synthetic from then on. Just my .02.

There is no break-in period required to switch to synthetic. Porsche, plus several other premium models are shipped from the factory with synthetic oil in the crankcase!
