Contrary to what some may think they do plow in the winter between our igloos and office igloos.... lol.

All in jest.

Winters in our area havent been bad in a very long time, thank global warming or not. We get some snow but not much, vancouver gets little to none. Its funny watching the news from Van. when it actually snows, its like they implement a state of emergency, its a gong show.

I digress.

The point being lowering to that extent looks great and works fine.

where do you live? I'm in a snow belt, we get snow, and that lowered car isn't getting past the bottom of the driveway!

Called TEIN and they said they just posted that pic in their website just to be there. Rep didn't give me any info at all about the suspension. ETA on both items will be 2-3, or so they say.

Not really a fan of TEIN's customer service, which is why I push Tanabe more.

Yes, I called tein to confirm any completion date on the R&D on their suspension for the Yaris and all I got was, 'not finished yet, check back'. No dates, no product info (springs, struts...)

Anyway.

I live in the interior of BC. It snows a couple feet or more over the winter but when the city actually does their job its plowed on a regular basis.
Its nowhere near the recent winters in Ontario where they bring in the army to plow snow.

TEIN Wagon and TEIN Super Wagon coilovers are relased for a couple of months already

This is where I looked.

http://www.tein.com/toyota.html

Doesnt say anything is available yet for the Yaris. If its found elsewhere on the site they sure didnt tell me when I asked. Didnt tell me something was available or when it may be.

This is the page which the photo was posted from - not available

Those will only work with JDM spec Yaris, will not work with US Yaris. If it was like that, Tanabe shouldve just brought the springs here and other stuff and they wont be doing any RnDing if they just bolt up.

But then again, I could be wrong since I've never tried it.

I test fitted the CUSCO Comp-S coilovers(for JDM Spec FIT) for the HOnda Fit(USDM) for CUSCO and to find out that there are small differences between the too. ALso tried the lower tie bars, didnt fit at all.:iono:

JDM spec NCP91 and USDM spec NCP91 parts both fit. Honda Fit is different

Have you guys tried fitting in JDM parts on your Yaris?

The Cusco 4 point lower brace is listed for both japanese and american NCP91s... this at least is the same... lol

/but i'd put money on it that most components will be compatable other than body parts/panels, which are different due to crash standards... but even then Japan has been really tightening up on their crash standards. It is in a company's best interest to homoginize its production, as it saves money in tooling. Also, note that the Yaris is manufactured in Japan rather than the United States...

the Yaris was design as a worldwide car, unlike the previous echo hatch and honda fit that is retrofitted with USDM standards so that the car can be sold here.

all the JDM parts i got bolts right on (except for the taillight, but even the non RS in Japan had to be retrofitted)

I've seen tein on some wrcs but never tanabe. I guess its more street stuff. I heard that the US Yaris hatch didn't come with a rear sway bar. I haven't had a chance to look. Am I right?

No rear sway bar on eithe the hatch or sedan.. but it's not bad.

youll see tein on some japanese rally cars, but none at the top level.. the tein rally suspension is only meant for rallyx, or autox on dirt..i havent seen teins on other race cars.

tanabe is on a few drift cars in D1.. like Chris Forsbergs' car, and the Signal cars. i havent seen tanabe on a rally car just yet.

How much of a pain in the ass and how long does it take to swap out to lower/raise? The more I think about it actually the less I am worried about it because I could lower/raise when winter ends and fall ends....but then again I might not have to worry about it because I could just drive my 'Cel during the winter instead and park the Y.....so many thoughts....so little time.

I have the TRD springs coming in this week, but the coilovers would be a nice upgrade for the future. Are these EDFC compatible?
