OK, I called and spoke to Todd the owner.

The "kit" you see on the website is the parts shown only, it's not a complete kit. That is because it was never installed in their Yaris. He got to a certain point, then did a 2ZZ celica motor swap instead. (This is the red Yaris shown on the site).

So, there are no more pictures, no installed pics, no dynos, etc. Todd was very nice and honest on the phone about all this information. It is also missing intercooler piping.

As for injectors, he suggested stock tC or RC 440cc for the Yaris 1.5L, but they don't come with the "kit".

As for management, he agreed with the current consensus that you have to "fool" the ECU with any piggyback system (by unplugging O2 sensor, for example), or go standalone (expensive).

OK, so that's where we stand with that one.

I was trying to find the "red" Yaris you were mentioning & I could not find it. Did you mean the orange one?

Its not bad looking - but it would take an act of god to get me to trade my LB for a sedan..

440cc injectors, quite overkill!! Some XRS 330's would be fine.

I guess you are going to wait forever since there are already a TON of standalones on the market.

But if you are series about it, get a Motec. An M4 can run individual coils and injectors, VVTi, control boost, water or alcohol injection, NOS, launch control, anti lag, flat foot shifting, intercooler sprayer, cooling fans, etc... I love mine and would highly recommend!

MoTec FTW, that's what I have on my tC.

AEM makes a good standalone, and there are a couple of shops around here that do installations and tuning.

Here is the IMPORTANT thing -- choose a shop FIRST and choose them WISELY. They will be managing your project, and they will probably have a preference and/or comfort level with a particular system (motec, aem, etc.).

That's the best advice I can give after going through three shops with my tC and taking nearly eight months to get the car set up and tuned properly. Whew.

I believe my eyes touched this car in SEMA 06. Love that Jap tunami tatoo outside, and I agree USDM Belta is ugly.

I talked to Zack from this website, and he said a guy is tuning the WHY type turbokit at Titan in Florida, and I think he is using an AEM fic. I'll post updates as soon as I get updates from him.

did i just read elsewhere that the guys from speakermans install (what was that company again?) is partners with this company...

cali yaris

dunno about partners!

I'm not familiar with the AEM fic, but I know a lot of people are talking about it.

How will the AEM fic differ from a piggyback like the eManage? In other words, why won't the ECU "know" what's happening with that unit and compensate as it does with piggyback products?
