How much trouble was it? You going to do the Vitz badge on the hood or leave the horns?

no itz badge on the front, because i think the sedan is called something different outside of north america. that and i don't want to spend any extra money on this thing aside from tint, springs, and wheels.

yeah, the sedan is called "Belta" (sp) in japan

looks good though, i took the toyota off the back of mine, but left the Yaris S, so people would know what it was..lol, ill take it off and they will just have to ask if they dont know :)

@fnkngrv: my badges came off super easy, just pulled them back on a hot day(just with fingures) and jsut a little bit of "Goo-Gone" to take the rest of the sticky stuff off

I agree it looks better without the badges, I had done mine a few day ago too.

Although one of the shop guys at the dealer pointed out that the toyota emblem on the rear is the same shape and size as a Lexus one.. now that would throw people for a loop...

haha, please Don'T!!!!! I can see taking a LEXUS and putting JDM Toyota emblems on it (since there IS NO LEXUS IN JAPAN), but putting a Lexus emblem on a Toyota would be like putting a BMW emblem on a Honda (well, not really since BMW/Honda aren't the same company..but you get the idea)

I was all "JDM" back in the day, and I converted my LExus GS300 to a "Toyota Aristo V300 Twin Turbo"....that entailed A TwinTurbo Engine/Transmission, wiring harness, CUSTOM LeftHandDrive steering column, ANd "TOYOTA" "ARISTO" and "V300" emblems :P but..then i realized that I had paid for the Lexus name and was only making myself look funny :P

though, i would like to see it...my TRD sponsor is a Lexus dealership in Dallas, so maybe if it looks ok i will do the same (GUINEA PIG! GUINEA PIG!!)

(since there IS NO LEXUS IN JAPAN)

this not true anymore. before i come to america this time, lexus was already forming. it is correct we did not have lexus before. now altezza, aristo, and soarer are in lexus line with same names as here "IS, GS, SC".

how do u all take off your emblems..???

how do u all take off your emblems..???

It is really not hard to do DanDaMan...

I used a heat gun with fishing line. You heat the emblem and use the fishing line to get it off. Don't heat the emblem too much, an heat gun can damage your paint.

The glue takes off easy...I think you could even use a simple hair dryer.

After that I used a solvent that removes the glue on the car.

5 mins...done:thumbsup:

so jus run the hair dryer for what couple mins? then use the fish line to take of emblem fa sho

WOW!! i didn't know they finally started releasing 'em as Lexus. Is the Supra going to be a Lexus in Japan as well? From what i've heard about the USDM counterpart, it's supposed to be released as Lexus..

Thanks for updating me!

Thanks for updating me! :thumbup:I highly doubt the Supra will be badged as a Lexus. That was a big rumor with the new GT-R as well, but Nissan knew better and decided to label it as a Nissan instead of an Infiniti. A Lexus Supra would upset the fanbase and they would all wind up rebadged anyway. The best move Toyota could make with the Supra is to keep it a Toyota and then make a Lexus luxury counterpart. Much like the last generation Supra and Soarer.

QUESTION!!! I want to debadge my liftback.. Should I use a blow dryer to take them off? (I'm planning on removing both the Toyota and Yaris badges..) Can someone let me know if the paint could be damaged or if there would be any left over residue? Thanks so much.

Chris07LB

It wont do any damage, its just held with double sided tape.

You could lightly heat the entire area up, then slowly peel it back.

Id actually like to add one to my LB.

it comes off the same way. you need to get some good 3m tape to reinstall. use the search cause chris explains it very well. off topic check out the gta meet thread and sign up!!

Hello; I'm brand new, just bought my Yaris liftback 2 days ago & discovered this site now...
The first thing I did was debadge the rear... thought I was weird until I saw this site...I'm not alone! Anyways, I just spray WD-40 along the top of the badge, (hold a rag underneath to catch drips) wait 5 minutes & peel off slowly with fingernails. Clean surface & apply NuVinyl "wax" coating. Simple beauty...
PS -- years ago, I did this to my Honda Accord as it sat outside & wasn't the best neighborhood. An asian gang was boosting Toyotas & Hondas for the "chop shop". If anyone I didn't know asked "What kind of car is it?", I'd answer "Ford Tempo".
If this situation arises with my new Yaris, I think I'll answer "Chevy Aveo".
