there is a new TV show coming to the USA network, starts airing this friday, but i got to see the first episode on one of the "on-Demand" channels of my digital cable.

it looks like there is a 4 door yaris hatch being driven by the 2 main charictors of the show, not positive, as they dont ever really show the car, but the center stack gauges deffinetly look different than the 2007 gauges, and as for it being a 4 door, means it must be from canada/austraila, and im not sure of the differences of the gen 1 gauges, but almost positive its a yaris.

funny thing is, its a 4 door hatch, and the show is to be based in san(something) california ...thought i new the city when i started typing the post, but now i cant remeber...

just curious if anyone has seen the show, and or confermation it is a yaris, might give me a reason to watch it weakly :) the piolt seem like it might be a decent show to watch regaurdless :)

Yep, it's Psych (pretty funny, actually), and a blue 5-door Yaris

i saw it last night, it looks like a gen1 and yeah, it is 5-door

Yes, the show is funny but no, it is not a Yaris. It is a Canadian-specs blue 5-door Echo, as they film the show in BC (although it is based in Santa Barbara, California!).

The series airs in the US on Friday nights at 10PM ET/PT on the USA Network. Psych debuted July 7, 2006, immediately following the fifth season premiere of Monk. The show was the highest-rated U.S. basic cable television premiere of 2006. Psych completed its third season run on February 20, 2009, and has been renewed for a fourth season starting in Summer 2009.

I was watching the second episode of the new season of Psych, and while Gus still drives a first generation Canadian specs 5-door Yaris...

I guess they didn't figure that a Yaris fanatic would be watching and notice, the same way they normally use a Canadian-spec first generation Yaris when the show is set in Santa Barbara, California!

Was watching an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (The Gang Finds a Dumpster Baby) this evening, and when Dee and Mac are walking the baby on the streets, there is a Yaris hatchback parked in the background!

on a&e they have a show called "billy the exterminator". billy's dad always drives a black 2 door liftback.

its a yaris now, but definitely was an echo.

Psych is not a new show, and I've seen it before. I know it used to be an Echo. Haven't seen the Yaris yet.

As for other Yaris sightings on TV, I noticed another blue hatch on the show Flash Forward. The female babysitter (forget her name now) for the main character had one. In the season finale she crashed it and went into a lake, so... unless they fish it out, it might not be seen if there is another season of that show.
