I'm interested in purchasing a Yaris Hatchback and have a few questions:
1. What's the difference between the 2006 & 2007 model. I'm from Canada btw
2. For the manual transmission owners, when you're traveling at 3,000rpm, what speed are you going at?
3. Again for MT, if you travel at 120km/h, what rev's are you at?
4. What is the suggested oil change interval?
5. Do you know what the invoice price?
6. Why did you pick the 3/5 door over the other?
TIA!

1) Im also from canada and bought a 2006 - dont know that there is a difference but dont understand why the 2007 came out shortly after the 2006 (maybe to coincide with the US release)
2)My 5spd at 3000 in fifth is going around 90km (i think, would have to check for sure)
3)at 120km I think its around 3800 - 4000rpm
4)Suggested is 8000km - I would still prefer to change at 5000km.
5)My price last year was a little over 17k - if your in canada and can still buy a 2006 do so, youll save a few bucks over getting a 2007.
6)Bought a 5 door cause I have a family.

Thanks mikeukrainetz!
3000rpm at 90km/hr sounds expected as it's only a 1.5L engine. Thank you for clearing that up.
What trim did you get? LE? RS? Sounds like package B is a must since it'll get you power everything, AC, keyless and rear wiper.

Power everything would have been alright, personally I didnt want to pay a ton extra for all the options.
I think its the LE package I have.
I have rear wiper, power mirrors, power locks, AC.
Keyless would have been nice.

Automatic has completly diffrent gearing than a 5 speed.

Agreed. However, the information posted in this thread doesn't seem right.
5spd manual, 3000rpm = 90km/h << seems a bit too slow
4spd auto, 3000rpm = 120km/h << Seems a bit too fast
The MT should have a higher speed at 3000rpm than the AT 'cuz of the extra gear (even tho the ratio's are different). That's why MT has a slightly better fuel economy, due to the gears.
Can anyone else clarify?

Actually I confirmed this this morning, took a road to work with actually level ground.
I ran the car at 90 - 100km in fifth and the rpm was at 2700.
Not enough room to try 120

Awesome! That sounds more right. So 3000rpm should be ~110-120km/h!
Thanks.. this was the same as my 03 WRX. :)
What speed to you find the Yaris to be more efficient? 100-110km/h?

4. What is the suggested oil change interval?
Dealer recommended 8-10km, but I am with punch on this one 5km
5. Do you know what the invoice price?
Go to the website price it out. It is pretty much dead on. No surprises here.
cept maybe a bit of warranty upsale + taxes
6. Why did you pick the 3/5 door over the other?
5 door. More room, cheaper insurance. Everyone that rides in it so far says they didnt expect the interior to be so roomy.
