Problem with opening my trunk

hi this is my first post in the forum but have been reading it before, i have a 2006 yaris 4doors, hatchback, and i have a problem with my trunk. i havnt hit my lock or anything but it wont open, when u try to open it it feels like its locked, so ibeleive something went loose, anybody had the same problem or any idea if i can fix it? i would hate to take my car to dealership just for my trunk thank you :D

Hi. I too had the problem of my hatchback not opening.
I slammed the trunk and then it would not open. Took it to dealership and they fixed it at no charge. They didn't say what was wrong, just said it was covered under warranty. I of course didn't tell them I slammed it shut. I just told them it seemed to be stuck in the locked position.
Works perfect since they fixed it.

my only problem with the trunk is that at first i couldn't figure out how to open it but after that, it was smooth sailing. you're sure you turned the key to the left to insure that it's unlocked?
