Yep, I'm inclined to agree..Corolla has a bigger engine and a heavier chassis. Doesn't seem possible to be more efficient.. :iono:

I think these mpg ratings are so up-in-the-air it's too difficult to truly classify them. I was getting 48 when I bought mine. Not 40.

What's the best method for calculating, besides filling it full then running it out? I can't seem to remember to mark the miles..

I got 288 miles out of my last fill up. I went 20 miles after that last bar starting blinking then I had to fill up because I was getting all nervous. It was mocking me with it's constant preveral flashing. I probably could have gotten more than 288 miles to the tank but I didn't want to run out of gas. Like a dumb shit.

staticorex....I also drive like a jackass.

Ha. The only way to drive. :)

My first fill up was 490 miles. It had about 25 miles on it already.

Oh, I forgot to mention that all of my driving is city driving. I am rarely on the highway.

If you are trying to get your MPG, you must take an average of 3-4 tankfuls to get a accurate MPG. You can't go 100 miles and then say you are getting 60MPG.

Easiest way is to fill up the tank when tank is almost empty
Set you trip mileage to 0
Wait till tank is almost empty again and fill up
Write down the gallons used
Divide the mileage on the trip by # of gallons.

Example: Your trip indicator shows 400 miles and you put in 10.5 gallons
Your MPG is 38.1.

Do this 3-4 times and then average your 3-4 MPG readings.

Awsome Fuel economy stats.

Now with a Yaris soon to be in the garage, it gives me even more 'negotiating' power
with the little woman to get one of these 300KW monsters as my other driver!
