What tires are the best 'summer' assuming they are used size 215/45-17
My final outcome will probably be to buy the best ultra high performace tires for summer, and use my stock steels for winter..
But please everyone please help me decide.
Im stuck between the Potenza and GoodYears's.
Maybe there is something better?
Also, more grip in dry/wet is good, but I still need it as all-season due to where I live.
Thank you.

If you actually 'need' all-season tires that will ever see snow or ice, get 14" rims for that time of year. It's not that it'll be cheaper, but wider tire = BAD in snow and on ice. Full-stop. And you'll ruin your 17" rims from snow and ice and road-salt compared to a cheap pair of steelies.
Then, I'd recommend Goodyear Assurance ComforTred's, they have a size that'll fit on a Yaris with 14" rims.

That's a good suggestion. If you need snow tires where you live, then find some steel wheels (on Craigslist, for example), and install some narrow snow tires. Save your fancy wheels and high performance tires for fair weather. Seasonal set-ups will give you what you want in the way of handling year 'round and cost you less in the long run.

Edited post above.
I will take all that to account and use my steelies once it drops before 40degree's F.
As for that, what is the best summer tire for grip, and maybe ride quality? THANK YOU

Just as an FYI, for the ComforTreds on 14" steelies, ask for the 185/65-14 tires.
If you're on 15" steelies, get Michelin Harmony in size 185-60/15. This is also available in the 185/65-14 size.
If you're willing to go for dedicated winter-season tires, get Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50 or WS-60, whichever the tire store has in stock.
I don't have any tips for summer tires except being duly impressed by Eagle F1 GS-D3's for equal performance wet and dry (which are available for our cars in the size you want AND the correct sizes of 205/40-17 and 215/40-17), but for all-season purposes I've got experience ranging from zoom-zoom Eclipse GS-T's to putt-putt Corolla FX's and Ford Escorts to go-anywhere Jeep Comanche 4x4's, and I've learned the same thing time and again.
For true all-season tires, TripleTred, ComforTred, Harmony, in that order of preference, but Blizzak WS-anything stomp em' all into the ground for dedicated winter tires, and Blizzak REVO is even better but not available for many vehicles. Anything but the Blizzak's will give a very comfy ride, and the ComforTred's live up to their name.
As a quick note though, if you're able to run 215/45-17's without rubbing anywhere, you can fit TripleTreds on the steelies as a side-note. Get the 185/70-14 or 195/60-15 size in that case.
