It's not a Yaris but it's food for thought. Make sure to watch the whole thing; I found it very interesting.

Interesting! The crash looked not exactly head-on. May be a more recent model from Volvo can perform better.
I wish that the cars were also tested for side impact and rear end crashes in a similar manner.

A better engineered car can give up mass to another vehicle in an impact, but when equally engineered, more mass causes more damage, simple...

If you get hit at the wrong spot, angle, speed, slope, attitude, altitude, etc. in a Yaris (LB's especially), you probably lose. Why every airbag available isn't standard or ordered by everyone in a 2200lb car doesn't make sense to me...

That said, modern cars are much safer per lb, period...
