Would strut/tie/sway bars interfere with the effectiveness of the car's design and crumple zones and such during a collision? Would you see any improvement in a wreck if outfitted with said mods?

A chassis brace will change the crash characteristics, a front strut bar for example, could transfer a side impact force to the opposite side of the car because it transfers the energy across to the other strut and does not allow the car to crumple properly dissipating the energy, which could result in more chassis damage on the other side of the car...I personally have not seen real-world examples of this, though...

Cheers

Unfortunatelly I have seen a real example of the description of that that you said.....A friend of mine had a car crash last year....Hit in the sidewalk with about 20-30 mph because tryed to avoid a dog in the road. The accident wasn't serious but the car dissolved from both sides because of the strut bar..
