"Wheel of Time" finally runs flat

A friend of mine just told me Robert Jordan, author of the vast "Wheel of Time" fantasy series, passed away yesterday from some kind of cancer. His wife is supposedly going to try to finish his series based on the final work he had completed and his remaining notes. Anyone that's tried to keep up with WoT can appreciate what a daunting task that will be, especially after losing a loved one.

Wow... thats terrible. I didn't particularly care for the stories, but I have a great deal of respect for him and his writings. That can't be easy for his wife; cancer is a terrible thing and a horrible way to die.
