If I were to get the TWM short shifter and bushings kit, will that effectively do the same thing that the NST short shift kit does?

Can I use both together to get a shorter, tighter shift pattern?

Is the shaft of the TWM short shifter actually shorter than the stock one?

Can anyone whos used both comment?

the NST shifter makes shifting a lil harder, changing to synthetic trans fluid helps a bit. As for the TWM I am unsure, but it shortens the throw on the other side of the linkage and putting the bushings in will make for some super short and tough shifting.... worse case, you can always just pop the NST shifter off easily....

Looking at Reznuts TWM the shifter physical length is shorter then the stock length.

*FYI*
Short arms and stock seats I don't recommend the TWM shifter for you'll be leaning toward the shifter in order to shift gears.
Long arms stock seat you still lean but not too much.
Aftermarket seats w/ the TWM fits just right.

someone told me to be careful with short-throw shifters...something about the synchro's not being able to keep up or something? when i had my GTI, i had a short-throw that was set to 60% shorter w/o problems.
