okay, i did a quick search, and couldn't find anything. i've yet to redline my Yaris, the furthest i've gone was 5k. anyway, i was wondering if it's bad to not redline your car once-in-a-while. i know that you're supposed to go WOT once a week (at least) to let any particles stuck on your TB out (and i'm sure there are other reasons). i'm still "babying" my Yaris (and i try to go WOT once a week). so should i take my Yaris to the redline once-in-a-while? why or why not?

its an old school tradition, back in the day cars weren't made as precisely as they are today ,so in order for all the parts to run smoothly you needed to polish them off, best way to do i run the car higher than normal , that would get rid of the imprefections. in this day and age no need for that, the Yaris engine is already brokenin at the factory plus the way its made there are very few imperfections so yo can drive it "normally"; they say to run it easy till about 1600km in order to have a good reliablity. As for redlining unless you dont want to keep the car for more than 100k then knock yourself out , there is no real reason to be redlining it even F1 cars dont like to redline they keep them at about 19000RPM they can go all the way to 23k RPM i think.
hahaha, okay, then i won't be redlining it. thanks for the info.
