Different brands of speakers....pros and cons

Hi all,
I was perusing the forums this morning and saw that some users' setups include different branded speakers(front and rear pair). I was wondering why. Was it due to size or just personal preference. And can anyone see a sound quality advantage to doing this?

Could be any of those reasons. Sometimes one company will make really good subs while another makes really good midbass cmponents while another makes a kickass amp. Other times its space requirements, budget, part laying around in the garage :P.

Thanks -m- I was just wondering. I just added some alpine's for the rear and I am about to upgrade the front in the next for weeks.
