What are the tools to install a shock, strut and springs?
is it worth doing it myself or paying someone to do it?

I was curious about this too, since I don't fancy paying some dude $150-$200 to install lowering springs.

But it'd prob be better to pay someone who knows what they're doing :iono:

well all you should need other than normal hand tools is a spring compressor...which you can rent from auto parts places like autozone for free...

yeah, suspension is fairl easy work, just take your time, pay attention to exactly how the old part comes out, and have fun, and think if it takes you 4 hours to do it, its just like you made 50$ an hour :)

i use torque wrench to make sure everything back to spec.

Need to make one correction...

Roll the keg-o-rator over closer to the tool box. :smile:
You will spend more time drinking beers, then it takes to actually do the install.... well I will anyway, "results may vary", lol.
The rears for example, are a cake walk! Start there first, and build your confidence. :tongue: :biggrin:

lol haha thx guys.
cause the spring, strut and shocks are about 270 and to install them is 370....tahts pretty weak, i dont think I'll do that.

anyone going to do a DIY? I have experience installing suspension for my other car, but i'm always nervous on doing it on a vehicle that i'm not familiar with.

My only concern are the specific torque on the bolt/nuts.. Once I was over tighten a strut nut and broke the whole strut mount. :frown:

i'll let you know next week, im gonna put mine on the alignment rack and see what i need to chagne, but as of right now it drives straight.

Driving straight is not your only concern- making sure that your tires are not wearing incorrectly (and thus, have less of a patch on the road, less grip, blah blah) is just as important.

Even if everything looks/feels great, you should always get an alignment after doing any suspension work. Just make sure the shop you pick can get the car onto a lift. :wink: Knowing the factory specifications for your car for toe, camber and caster does not hurt, either- that is what the shop should set it back to.
