thats a route i take every morning and i know peak times and late hours cops love to surround that area to hand out tickets. even I didnt see the 60kph sign... i see 80 warnings but i guess they assume if u see the allen coming to a stop into an intersection, strict measures will be taken for it. fight for it, cause alot of people who fight for their tickets on the allen usually get them taken off. experience from my friends who went over 110 till the light. Me, i wouldnt do that....lol but thats cause i knwo the area... you tell me to go 60 in an area at brock and dundas and ill probably coast at 85...
im wondering whether there were any other cars travelling relatively the same speed as you? that could be an arguement you could always apply, traffic speed is a safe speed
That sucks, I didn't realize that the speed changed to 60km near eglington. I'm usually doing close to 0km/hr (heavy traffic) in that stretch and speed limits are the least of my worries. I don't know the legals, but for the speed to change from 80 to 60, there should be a warning signs posted before the speed actually changes.
Hopefully you can find a good x-copper type to represent you. Especially since you're out-of-town, so that way you don't have to show. I knew one, but can't find his business card. If I do, I'll post it.

ok, having delt with many tickets myself, first off, admit it you screwed up, there are signs posted, theres are signs everywhere on that road, just because 99% of the traffic is also speeding doesn't make it ok for you to speed...
forget a lawyer, x-copper, points etc..., it will cost you $500 minimum...( I have a freind working for one place)
goto court, go early, see the lady at the court room, ask them to lower the ticket to 15 over, and you'll get a nice fine but NO points !! 99% of the time they will agree to this.

It sounded like the off ramp onto Richmond St. from the DVP. lots ppl get caught there for the same reason (90 to 50 zone).
anyways...definitely fight it...if the cop is busy handing out tickets like that, what are the chances he'll show up on court day.

" i suggest u pick option 3 for trial, because if I don't show up, you dont pay and if I do we'll talk to the prosecutor and get him to lower it"
lol
i was like wtf???
thats becuase they like going to court, usually there off day, and on 1 1/2 pay...

I say go to trial, and explain that the car is just 3 weeks old and because its' new and the speed is in the midle it threw you off. Explain that if you were wanted speed you would have got a fast car, were fuel economy was your wish, good luck, maybe he won'tshow!!

Why does nobody want to take responsibility for their own actions? Speed limits are there for a reason, if you get a ticket, oh well, pay the ticket and be done with it and just don't speed next time. And the "go with traffic" doesn't work. So next time I'm out on the 401 and I see 5 cars pass me at 180km/h I guess I should go the same speed because it is dangerous not to, right? The limit is the limit, no matter if you are in the left, right, centre, merging, or exiting the highway.

Who are you trying to kid alhope34?
Why are you hopping up that Speed3 if you don't feel the need to exceed?

I have to point out one thing. The highway in question ends at a parking lot (stupid design). I am aware of at least 2 people that drove right through that dead end highway and into the parking lot on the other side.
One can argue about signs, speed limits and new cars, but really the only solution is to go to court and get the speed reduced so there are no points.

Track. Unique sound. Having something no one else has.
Mods or not, I'm limited to 155mph, I don't need to mod to be fast. I mod because I want to for what I mentioned above. Why did you work over your suspension? do you always take turns at 80km/h?

80km/h??? Or much more wherever safely possible. But ALWAYS between the yellow lines
Ever passed anyone going around a clover-leaf on-ramp? :eyebulge:
That gets the attention of those young corner-cutting whipper snappers.
Ya, I know. I should save it for the track. Next year?

:iono: 155 should get you there soon.
I have no idea how fast my Yaris will go. Cornering is where it's at for me.
I dought I've had it past 145 KPH.

The Yaris is limited to 188km/h. It takes 5 days (6 days for the auto) but it will actually get there. I have heard of a GPS showing an MS3 hiting 265km/h which is actually 161mph...wondering if it is actually limited at all, haha.
Actually, I was jerked forward the last time I hit the limiter. With some good wheels and the right speed limit, the manual Yaris probably can sustain 160km/hr all day without a hickup and still return decent fuel consumption. Unlike my 4cyl RAV4 which seems to work too hard to maintain 140km/hr.

He's not kidding anyone, but I think he understands the responsibility concept that escapes most socialists...
