According to their web site the Yaris is not supported by Unichip (US site)

I just emailed the supplier for unichip.com.au and they emailed me this:

Hi Leon,

Thankyou for your interest in Unichip,

There is a Unichip available to suit your yaris. Power gains from vehicles definitely do vary from vehicle to vehicle. However this will definitely assist in helping boost your fuel economy, torque and power.

For all fitting information I would suggest contacting the Unichip dealer located closest to you.

Hmmmmmmmmmm 'economy' will be out the window once you boast the output...

Not according to the fluff on the web site...Sounded good until I got to the last line.

Why should I install a Unichip to my car?

The most obvious reason is to increase engine performance. Significant gains in torque and power across the entire RPM range are possible. In addition, the engine will be smoother, deliver greater response and maximize fuel efficiency at all RPM and throttle positions. A second reason is to harness the performance value of engine and exhaust modifications.

Standard engine management systems are not programmed to cater for exhaust headers, cat back exhaust systems, high flow air cleaners, performance cam shafts or larger turbochargers and intercoolers.

For an example of its flexibility, we have installed Unichip to engines as small as 1200cc and as large as 8200cc(500ci). Not bad for only $1395.00 fitted and tuned.

problem is youre not going to see massive gains on an NA econobox :(....if it was factory turbo on the other hand you might have :(

10kw is not noticeable anyway... better wait for a RS 1.8L version... if they ever come to Australia...

Masteraal

even the RS isnt THAT hot...i reckon trd needs to open another studio so they can do more than 1 car at a time...who gives a toss about a trd hilux anyway! im sure a TRD corolla and yaris is more important!

No no... i mean the 1.8 VVTL i is better than the 1.5 VVTi anyway... the RS design is not that good agreed... need more aggression...

haha yea...i wouldnt mind that extra 20kw :D plus im too poor to mod...maybe when i graduate and make some real money :P but then i want to save for a house etc. might just have to not mod this one and save up for my next car ;)...Audi RS5 ;) heehe lol

well...the yaris' main downfall is the thin tyres and absolute shite suspension!

Speedz

suspension is not too shabby... much better than the softy Echo... as for tyres... i think 205 would be the sweet spot... as for size... its up to the owner...

Masteraal

Yeah,
remember my 1.5 rs with fidanza flywheel, 66 jun cams e cone filter but no remapping just stripped yaris 1.8 crap.
Go and spend all your money. Better make a loan to have sticky beans box.
And end with patches.
I don't say where.
It's obvious.
Bye.
