I just bought a spare set of winter tires for my 4-door A/T Yaris (second new set of steel wheels $260 from Ebay; and Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50 185/60R15 with protection plan (i.e., free mount and dismount in spring/winter for$311)). Safety for my family: priceless.

At the beginning I actually had an alterior motive of trying to get a alloy rims by also getting a second set of snow tires, but the wife caught on it very quick and say "no!", darn!:biggrin:

I know this might sounds like a boring topic for those who are very excited in dressing up their Yarii. But please consider the safety aspect of your Yaris too.

I used to have a Camry (heavier car) with All Season tires, and I slid couple times on snowy days - one time pretty close to a major accident. Another incident relating to these light Toyota cars: My friend drove a Corolla on snowy Christmas day with all-seaon tires got into a nasty accident because the car slid to another lane, broke his leg and needed to recuperate for 6 months.

So, knowing how light the Yaris is, I decided to buy a second set of winter tire. Just as a safety reminder for those out there who cares. I think it will be a good investment.
