I live in Chicago and if anyone is in the Sacramento Ave and Fulton Street side of town the gas at that Citgo is an amazing $2.78. I don't know why its that cheap but its amazing I always fill up there. But remember since its, I wager, the least expensive in the City--its been as low as $2.70 when shell has it for $3.40--get there early because th place always has a line of cars.

Not even close my friend. Wisconsin has the highest or second highest state tax on gasoline, but, that's partially due to the fact that we have no tolls. For example, I live very close to Illinois and Iowa and yesterday, a friend and I went through parts of all three states and the prices for regular unleaded were like this:

Illinois: $2.15

Furthermore, there are different levels of gas tax in different cities, and the location of the stations within the cities themselves dictate taxes as well. Basically, it sucks and we are all taxed differently.

Meh, you'd have to look at the latest GDP results to get a clear picture of if we are and if we're not. last time I looked was back in October, not too sure what it is now. I'll say this, if minimum wage goes up, you'll see more andmore jobs cut and then we'll see more of a resession. Ok backon topic. The prices this low won't stay here so enjoy it for now, but expect it to go back up:thumbsup:

Oil prices are dropping because the markets were way over-leveraged and demand figures were overinflated. Speculators were buying oil futures with money that did not exist, but were able to sell off the futures just before they would have had to take actual delivery of the oil, thus making a profit. Now that the world's economies have basically shut down, there are no more secondary buyers for these futures, so speculators aren't actually bidding them up anymore.
Add to that lower demand worldwide, and you have a crashing oil price.

I think it will drop to the mid $30's/barrel by Febuary, and then go back up and stabilize around $55-60 bucks by next summer.

It just amazes me how gas can drop from over $4.00 to $1.89 in 4 months and oil companies like Exxon can post a $14 billion dollar profit in the second quarter of this year and our government just sits back and bails everybody out.
