She's looking good. Are you going to keep the light on the bumper or go back to stock?

the rear side markers are funny! AWESOME car and looks like you are really doing her justice. what seats are those? plans for the interior?
Are you doing a strict restoration, or a resto/mod?
johnnypaseo
01-10-2009, 05:45 PM
Thanks guys! its been a headache finding parts for this thing >Jclo im thinking of keeping the lights.
>Garm im doing a resto/mod, i guess, interior wise its gonna be custom/all black, with aftermarket seats of which i dont know of yet! Any recommendations are welcome, I really want to rebuild the engine to stock/cuz it still needs to pass smog =(. Do you know anyone who can do carb work?

What engine did it come with? 18R, 20R, 22r? edit: Im thinking its the 12r if so you can bolt a 22re right in the engine bay. They come out of Toyota Trucks from 85-95. Those can easily pass emmisions even with mods. And thier cheap, go look around the 4x4 world and were looking to get more power and engine swaps are pretty common. You can probably pick a used one up for about $500-800 depending on mileage. A rebuild kit is about the same. So you can have an engine with headers and intake, rebuilt and making 170-ish ft.-lbs of torque and 130-ish flywheel hp for about around $2000. It might not be your thing though cause it might take some fabrication to mount the intake, and i dont know if the stock transmission would work but it would be cool. Plus that engine pushes my 5000 lbs truck around pretty good so...

If local regs permit consider getting a Megasquirt ECU atop of it all. You can then tune the car to get either best performance, mileage or both.

In PA you have to leave the car OEM, which to me is chickenfeed... better to have a modern ECU that protects the environment and saves gasoline.
