2007 Toyota Yaris TS 1.8 Dual VVT-i

Akso known as Yaris SR in the United Kingdom.

Toyota has revaled the new flagship Toyota Yaris model called the Toyota Yaris TS at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. The new Toyota Yaris TS is powered by Toyota’s new flagship Dual VVT-i 1.8 liter engine which makes 130bhp at 6,000rpm and max torque of 173Nm at 4,400rpm, compared to the Yaris 1.5 liter’s 109hp at 6,000rpm and 142Nm of torque at 4,200rpm. With the new Dual VVT-i engine, Valve timing is adjusted on both intake and exhaust valves. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The little hatch goes from 0-100km/h in 9.3 seconds.

Other enhancements to the Toyota Yaris TS over the base model include suspension improvements - the front suspension has been reinforced, gains a thicker anti-roll bar and a linking rod has been introduced between the rear suspension members. The ride is also lowered by 8mm.

Other than ride height, further external differences include a new black mesh grille with a TS badge, darkened headlamps, a deeper bumper with integrated foglights, a new rear bumper with integrated exhaust tailpipes and fog lights, as well as new LED rear lamp clusters. Look from the side and you will see nice 17 inch alloy wheels that fill up the wheel arches as well as deep side skirts. There is also a roof spoiler for the rear.

Both three-door and five-door versions of the Toyota Yaris TS will be on sale from February 2007. More photos after the jump.

And the price?

The price will be different in every country, depends on local taxes and other factors.
For example the Yaris TS is a Europen model, if you want one out Europe ( Like mine) is going to be a special order probably.

I don't think they gave a T-Sport to Maria Jose, as there were only 5 cars brought to the country this year. They probably gave her the standard 1.3L hatchback.

... and Yes, the T-Sport comes equipped with a smart start system (Push Bottom start) and automatic clima control. Mine does.

Yes it is, its called a Scion Xd.

Not quite! Close but not as nice... the xD is a little heavier, has no rear brake discs, not as many safety features (9 airbags for example) is geared different and not as loaded as the TS.

My normal yaris hatch cost me 18,000$ :(

Mine was way more than that. But taxes for new cars down here are quote high so it's not really a point of comparison.

CASTREX an other question how much yours cost you arond 19,000.00 dollars or 22,000.00 and also what about the parts for the engine because if you say that only 5 where shiped to Costa Rica it should be a Pain in you know where to get parts or they are easy to get there in costa rica i know that here in panama the owners of Corolla's Tsport have a lot of trouble getting parts for that engine and in the end they just sale the car

Wow that's about nine thousand uk pounds for a standard yaris! I had a 1 litre before my new one, as standard as you can get, over here they call it the T2, or trim 2, and it cost me 7,100. You guys seem to pay a lot for your cars.

I have some questions about the TS taillights.

- Which type of bulb is the reverse light?
- Does anyone have a picture of the connector? Is there a difference between the connector of JDM RS taillights, European TS taillights and "normal" (european) Yaris taillights?

so, now is it clear.
It does not give a Yaris2 TS Facelift here in Austria, and i think this also will be in all other EU countries....
Instead of the TS there will be a 1,33l (101PS) SOL (highest package) with additional sport abilities available.
I don´t have pics of this package.

The 1.8 Liter motor and longer front end is a step away from the reasons I bought my Yaris 1.5 liter 3 door liftback. I love the short front end. Makes it easy to see around obstructions at intersections. The shortness of the 3 door Yaris makes it one of the easiest cars to park. I find the 1.5 liter motor has lots of power. I would like to have the Yaris with the 1.0 liter motor, that gets even better fuel economy than the 1.5 liter motor. I would rather get 60 mpg highway, with the 1.0 liter motor, than 35 mpg highway, with the 1.5 liter motor.

FYI the 5 door and 3 door Yaris are the same size... the 5 door is just more convenient for the passangers.
And the 1.8L dual vvt-i engine is the first of the new Toyota small engine generation.

More powerful, torquier, and as green and economical as the older 1nz-fe.

... oh and packed with a bunch of extrassss...

yeah I can see why you don't like it.

The ONLY downside i have find on the TS is the price tag....

We do NOT have a steering pump in case you haven't noticed... Our steering is electric not hydraulic.

There are no aftermarket brake pads to my knowledge... I've been looking for them as well. But don't worry, the OE are pretty good. Usually just getting some high performance brake fluid is enough in case you want to track / race your car.
You need 2 bottles of brake fluid for this car. I recommend Motul RBF600 or ATE Racing blue

You don't really need to change your transmission oil now. I did it because I drive my car really hard so I always use the best available synthetic fluids such as Mobil 1 or Amsoil or Motul to add some extra wear protection.

If you don't abuse your car as I do just stick with the recommended factory intervals. That's all the car really needs under regular driving conditions.

I just feel better about my tranny knowing that I have the best quality liquid in there ; )

Regarding the brake fluid...

ATE super racing blue DOT4 is made in Germany and used by many sport European cars. I sure you should be able to get it in your country. Just ask on any Mercedes dealer.
You should also be able to use MOTUL RBF600. That is also made in Europe!
