Yeah, I'd like to do a little cleaning up, but I can't!

Hey, since adjusting YW's clock, all the posts are out of sync. Now, some of the threads are a bit didfficult to follow.

Question:I need new wheels and rims for my yaris, but It's very difficult getting those TRD springs,etc that everyone mentions in the forums from where I live. Would it be okay to get other types of springs, or would that mess up my car?

TRD springs are not the only way to go. Actually, I believe that most yarisworld members who've lowered their cars have done so with other than TRD springs.

Let's get this thread moved to the Wheels/Tires/Suspension section so you can get better response to your question.

Both the Tanabe NF210 and DF210 are great choices in terms of quality and price.

i have Tein spring installed and really happy.

I believe Tein quality is not bad also but it cost way more than Tanabe DF210.
maybe it's because Tein lowers more than Tanabe.

I went with the tanabe DF210s and with the 15" wheels i got i have experienced no rubbing (yet lol). The new stance makes the profile way more aggressive looking imo too! i actually got a few questions the other day including "what car is that?" by some dude driving an eclipse. You're going to love the look of a lowered yaris.

lol that and you're going to notice you can cut those turns a little crazier...not that you should ;]

I'd say go with Garm if you decide on the DF210s, that is if you can get ahold of him, i've pmed a couple of times regarding some stuff but haven't gotten ahold of him yet D:

Are there any performance/tuning shops near you?

You can try ask them what suspension brands to they normally carry and then go to the brands site and see if they carry any for the Yaris. You can then special order thru one of those shops.

There are no tuning or performance shops in the whole country..i do everything myself, with the occasional help of a friends dad whose a mechanic.

If I do order any springs I think I'll run it through the Toyota company.

I'm in the same boat at the moment. The DF210 sure look aggressive, but having said that I've decided on getting a set of NF210, purely to avoid any scrubbing or scraping when having a full load of passengers in the car - as this is my daily commuter =)
