Does it come with one?

Does it have provisions to install one?

Where is it located?

Thanks

the canadian models have them , not sure about the us. but it is located behind the passenger glove box, you take out the glove box and you will see a long white piece of plastic thats the cabin filter compartment

Bosch lists one for the Yaris; they're PN is P3502.

Is anyone on the forum running a cabin air filter in their American Yaris?

I saw one DYI; roughly one-third of the flow area was cut off by the cardboard of the cut-up filter, which was based on a 3M home furnace filter. Those filter elements are too restrictive for the Yaris's small fan.

I'm not interested in anything like that.

Here's the Toyota PN:

This filter element is only $8.70:

The Bosch cabin air filter for the Yaris (PN P3502) is $19.99 in my zip code area, per their website. I'll order two of those tomorrow.

That's interesting.

Are you certain that the Yaris has a pull-out frame like the Scion xB, though? (I don't think it does. See pics here: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8828&highlight=cabin+air+filter )

Here's the drop-in Bosch cabin filter. The PN for the Yaris filter is P3502; they're $19.99 at Autozone. I'm going to order two of those tomorrow.

The Yaris does not have a pull-out filter frame like the Scion; there just isn't enough clearance to install and remove the frame. This is precisely the reason why Toyota did not install a filter in the unit. Nevertheless, a filter can fit without using a frame. To install the filter, it's a bit of a sqeeze but quite doable. Don't buy the filter frm the dealer unless you have a small fortune to plunk down. Go to your local auto parts and pick one up. I got a Purolator for less than $10. Part # is: C38188.

it is amazing how much particulate matter the 3m filtrete based filter I made picks up. I used some adhesive foam strips around my filter to help create a more air-tight fit. It fits in snugly, and I can't tell any difference in air flow rates. I'm sure there is some change, but its impossible to filter without some change.

Pep Boys carries Purolator filters that fit the Yaris. It fits the LB, not sure about the sedan or 5-door LB.

I got mine from the dealer, after I sent back the Wix/Napa Gold. The OEM didn't look as restrictive, which should make the blower motor and resistor much happier.

I found rockauto has a variety of cabin air filters for the Yaris if you want to order it online. You can usually find a discount code off retailmenot.

Checked the filter in my 07' today and it was very dirty. My guess is it's the original and 3 years old now. There are many brands available on line, which do you folks rate as good or bad?

That's what I did. I have forgotten the make of the filter but it has a separate charcoal filter and another separate washable green colored filter with an individual top and bottom plastic criss(sp?)-crossed "holder". Pretty sure it's by 3M.

I did the DIY version as well. I bought one home filter and got what? 8 out of that one as I remember. I've only used three or four so far. Not bad for $20. They work like a charm too. I purchased the best home HEPA filter 3M had at the store.

Full-flow & nice, tight fit. No duct tape frame.
I'd be afraid the Toyota tech would laugh at me if I did this mod.
