THAT IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL BIKE!
They say I shouldn't buy one because I'm young and I'll just kill myself..
Which is probably true.. I've crashed my uncle's Kawasaki 250 lol. Now he's got a CBR 600, which I want to ride!

Very nice! I've always loved the RC51s and the entire RD line (RC30, RC45, etc).
I have an 2005 CBR1000RR Repsol...

...and a 1991 ST1100 that I've had since it was new (it's been to Europe with me twice, four years in Germany and three in Belgium), so I am a big Honda motorcycle fan. I ride with a guy who has a dozen or so Hondas, to include an RC51 like yours. I am afraid to ride it as my garage is already full with the two bikes and the Jeep. Even my poor new Yaris has to live outdoors because there is no room...
By the way, I used to live outside of Baltimore and go up to Ephrata (http://ephratamotorcycle.com/) every month for the big get-together. Not too far from York, and worth checking out if you haven't already been there...
Cheers! M2

guys, thanks for the positive comments ;)
max: your bike is totally different. (lovin the repsol scheme) - the inline 4's spool up so different, your bike sounds like a jet turbine to me. When it came down to what 1000 bike to buy, it was SO hard to pick between the two, and I have not ridden a 1000 ever( last bike was a suzuki 600). I picked the rc51 for the heritage and just a hair more obscure, you dont see them too often. Oh, and the sound.. yeah.. having the big fat twin pipes is pretty sweet sounding, I know the undertail (and stub) exhausts are the new tech, and I like that too, I also like having two big cannons for pipes :)
The thing that makes our bikes different, is the power, and way its applied and gearing. Your bike is faster, hands down. I think its kick ass. You know what was always odd to me, that the rc51 was always more expensive then the CBR's were by like $800..lol..
My next purchase (keeping the rc and building a sweet garage of toys) will be a ducati 848 in white. Downpayment is sent, and itll be a sweet winter project.

I picked up my 2003 rc51 w/ 2200 miles on it, flawless shape for $7400 2 years ago. Bone stock.. Ive probally dropped $3200+ or so in mods as well. That carbon isht is expensive!
Brand new I think the rc51 (last model was made in 2006) was $13k or so.
