......for an "cooler air" intake option.

Please share your opinions on whether you like the idea or whether you hate it. Hell, let me know if its even worth the trouble.............

Im thinking of running a flexible tube(wrapped in heat res. material) from the intake port on the stock air box to a particular point on the front end close to the radiator.

Ill answer any questions I can.

Here's some crappy PS to help explain(look for the green):

a few people have been doing it from the foglight housing. you may avoid heat with that type of application as well :)

From my stock air box I have a flexible tube from where the "snorkel" comes out straight down to the fog light with a spectre cone filter on the end, $25 from pep boys and it sounds cool!

i wouldnt run it a cross the radiator like that all that hot air = no good i would take the advice of just running it straight down to the fog light hole like everybody else seems to be doing

I HAVE foglights and I plan on wrapping the tube in heat resistant material.

Would it make ANY difference to do any of this?

i have foglightsI have fog lights to. I know what your trying to accomplish. Do you have an sri, cai or just a stock box?

contrary to popular opinion air does not do well with 90degree + bends lol

Seriously?

Regardless, the stock "snorkel" has to tight bends so it would be better than that lol

why run it to the other side? is there something in the way of using the near side?

oh youre talking about doing this from the snorkel? screw that thing i took it out the week we got the car...

if you were to do anything i would recommend a dremel and dremel out the bottom of the airbox(but not extremely you will be able to see the lines to cut at). It is done on every single one of my play cars and it has the same results tested as an AEM in most situations, just a different deeper growl...drop in a stock K&N filter and viola top of the line intake without the flashiness!!

Can you prove the same output as a AEM?

I would remove the stock snorkel and attach my hose to there. Just making the point that the stock has bends in it. I would only have one bend in my set up.

The radiator is in the way.

If I get my car running soon, since i have to swap to an open element anyways, ill get you some logs if you are truly interested. But if HondaLog can log it, i can just buy one of those and then slap a cone on there... but im trying to find the test results done on my car because they tried it before.

I've even done it on my snow mobile. and it is reported that if you open the holes too much then it will decrease horse power from the increased air flow. Same principle applies. I think i would rather have a steady stream of air going directly into the intake from one hole instead of something being completely open and sucking in from all directions...

or i am just me and i have absolutely no idea what i am talking about and talking out of my ass or something...
