Alright...I am prolly gonna get slapped really hard in bad places for this, but anway...back in the day (late 80s and early 90s) Pyle made some pretty kick ass speakers...does anyone have 2 cents on the quality that they put out there now? Mainly 6 1/2"s, components, and 6x9s.

Pyle got left behind the times. Try Boston Acoustics.

LIke I said...I was curious....I guess they are just like Lanzar (now Pyramid garbage in Lanzar badging) and Hifonics also used to be quite the great equipment. I am not really looking for anything too expensive for now...just something to get me by better than the stock stuff until I really hear something that I like.

Do not jumble HiFonics in with those other brands.. there are some very good AMPs by HiFonics.

Yes there are, but they split off much of their product into a new company that just is not as good quality as they once were were all their product lines. I can;t recall the name off hand, but I owned 4 amps which were subpar therefore I just tend to stay away to be safe. Just my experience.

I'm interested in knowing this as well, since (in the small case i decide to re-ice) I would be looking for a cost effective, small audio system at some point.

I fell off the car audio scene back when the Alpine V12 amps first came on the market..

x2 on Hifonics. They make some BADASS amps and their goliath subs are tops for spl too. They've got some Collosus subs in the works that are supposed to pwn but nobody knows anything about them yet, very hush hush. For just straight up speakers, if you want some cheap full-ranges try to find some cheap MB Quarts, they're awesome! Boston Acoutics are wikkid but a little expensive.
Oh yeah, PYLE = POOP!!!!!

I would compare Pyle with Wal-Marts Roadgear if that gives ya an idea.

[homo lisp]While I'd love to slap you on the ass, I'll refrain for now.[/homo lisp]

Bang for the buck, I've found that Infinity is good stuff, as is Polk.

Doesn't it suck how these old companies are getting bought for the name for all these crappy companies and their reputations go down the tubes? Case in point, Jensen, they used to make some good stuff, now it's all rebadged Audiovox garbage.

I used to work for a company that sold Pyle speakers on eBay. Total pieces of crap! It doesn't say much when we could buy a 12" sub for ~$10, have half of them come back because the voice coil literally welded itself shut, and still turn a profit! Horrible, horrible quality. Factory speakers will blow these out of the water.
