Rape "jokes"
Posted 09-04-2007 at 06:11 PM by sherryberry
You know what really pisses me off? All the rape "jokes" that people make and thinks it's no big deal. I have heard people say that test raped me.. really now? Did that test get you drunk until you had no control and then took everything of yours away from you? I am pretty sure you're going to rebound better after a test than from rape. I don't care if I get crap for this post either. The reason that women are so many times blamed is because these jokes make it seem as if rape is no big deal. Getting a C or D on a test isn't really that bad in the long run so the effects of rape cannot be that bad. I have seen countless women whose lives turn upside down by this atrocious act. They cannot sleep, eat, etc. So while a rape joke may seem like nothing to you.. think about this.. do you know who has been raped? How would they feel hearing you compare something like a test to something that has happened to them where they had no control? All right.. i'm done with this post. go ahead.. flame on.

Flame on.... I say bravo. I cannot top this comment off, its so true though. Rape should not be accepted. I have not heard many rape jokes before although I have lived in South Africa for most of my life. So called "Witch Docters" claim that If a man with AIDS rapes a virgin, he will be cured. This is BS, it will cause the spread of AIDS.Posted 09-05-2007 at 01:50 AM by DollaZo

Ever know someone thats been raped? Its not a joke and its nowhere near funny.
Thats our modern society today however. Women are treated like garbage in most places worldwide.
Good thing im not female because I would just have to go all out schizo on the dumb fuck that made rape 'jokes' in front of me....Posted 09-05-2007 at 03:53 PM by redyaris

brick, I appreciate your honesty and i know a lot of guys and girls are like this. You say words don't have much power but would you ever call a black guy a "nig***"? No... because it's offensive. I believe it is offensive and I have my own personal reasons for it.
I'm sure you can figure it out too by now.Posted 09-11-2007 at 05:58 PM by sherryberry

Brick is right... we give words power over us. Please do not misunderstand me. I know what you mean when you say people will take statements personally, because of their relationship with those words. Brick brings up the point of us allowing ourselves to be continually victimized, by the careless use of words.
