DRLs

Did anyone out there disable the DRLs on there cars,if so how. Mine is a 2008 AERO with OEM fogs. When I remove the relay I lose the fogs. And I would realy like to have the fogs operating independently from the other lights. The objective is to use the fogs as the DRLs without having any other lights on.
Thanks,Gary

As I mentioned in our PM discussion, your easiest method to disable the DRLs, but maintain the OEM fog light functionality is disconnect the large blue wire in pin 1 of the DRL connector.

Your other option, with leaving the DRL module out, would be to simply ground the orange wire in pin 4 of the headlight switch connector or the other end of the wire, which is the orange wire in pin 16 of the DRL connector. This will allow the fogs to work independently of the headlights as well.

You mentioned in the PM that you tried the orange wire option without it working. You may want to check your FR FOG fuse in the fuse panel under the bottom of the dash to be sure that the fogs aren't working because of a popped fuse.

The fuse is OK as the fogs work when all is reconnected as it should be.
I will try to diconnect the blue wire fron the DRL relay, but this is not easy as the harness to the relay is on the short side. I will also try to ground the orange wire in conn. 13 pin 4 and i`ll let you know how things turn out.
Won`t be doing this real soon as I have spent enough time under the dash for one wk-end.
Thanks again....
