When Yaris shopping did you consider Corolla?>

I did for a brief period but I then I image people saying to me...

"Nice Corolla ! Did you borrow it from your grandma??????"

...maybe the next gen Corolla will look more modern, but the current Corolla, no thanks Id rather have a Yaris, even at the same price...

I had an 03. Did not like it. Bought it when it first came out in early 02, and traded it for an 03 Prius in Sept. 02. Driving position was horrible, noisy engine, and crappy mileage. At the time, the Echo was about the same price, but not nearly as nice. However, I would take a Yaris over a Corolla anyday even though they are priced about the same.

I think the next Corolla will be alot nicer than the current model.

too big. we wanted a car similar to my EK civic hatchback, just with updated safety systems (curtain airbags and so forth...). yaris was the logical (and smallest!) choice. now she gets to dart in and out traffic while driving to work. doubt the corolla could do that...

Not really. In hindsight, I think I would have strongly though... that extra trunk space. And I dont mind its current styling, interior or exterior. I like it, in fact. (looks less cheap looking inside-wise I must say, imo)

But, that said, its more generic than our Yarises. Not that I mind that fact, but its nice and cool driving a very unique vehicle like the yaris.

BUt I miss the lack of truck space in the hatch, and I dont like the Yaris sedan at all -- so a Corolla it would have been if I was getting trunk.

But, you also cant get a Corolla for the same price as my Yaris with power doors, windows and keyless.

You hafta get a different package, and that bumps you up higher than what I paid for my Yaris by a $1,000 or 2,000 or so. Somewhere in there. You can get just power doors i know though for about the same price.

Oh well... i am quite content with my little Yaris. So much character!

And I would have never named my Corolla "Cara" and gotten her the MORDSITH plates I have for my Yaris... I def feel more intuned to my Yaris and care more than I ever woudl have with a Corolla.

I didn't consider Corolla. It's too plain looking.

i went from an 03 corolla to the yaris, the corolla was a little more spacious but the yaris gets way more attention, you wanna know something funny. the speedometer in the corolla only goes to 110, the yaris goes to 130. if ever i will get bored with my yaris, im not gonna trade in, im going to drop a 2zz and a lsd. so celica gts/corolla xrs power, yaris styling :)

I considered a Matrix but mileage was top priority for me.

You see hundreds of Corollas per day here, 90% of the taxis use those... very boring, but decent enough cars for the price. Nothing like the funky lil' Yaris though!

I just didn't think the car offered enough to justify the difference in price between it and the Yaris. The Yaris is a better deal.

rrr... No.
At the time I was driving a Chevy Prizm (an old gen Corolla) and while I was not disappointed with it it was a little...plain.
The new gen is plain boring too, and is too big for a commuter when usually I'm the only passenger.

I found it too boring looking for me, I wanted a car with a personality. I did look at the Matrix, but it was a bit too big for me I couldn't justify spending the extra money since I don't need a big car.

Stopped the Toyo dealership on the way back home from Barrie tonight and just peaked around teh rides there for fun.

I must say, I like the 07 Corolla. In interior is very nice. I like the seats better than ours. Yes I guess its very 'ordinary' and 'plain' but its nice all the same.

If I was buying now, prolly it def would have come down to a close call between the two.

roughly same cost, same mileage (a tad better on the corolla actually), a much bigger trunk space (than the hatch Yaris space), and more horsepower. Im guessing the corolla would be a quieter interior too... the yaris is pretty loud, doesnt insulate out noise very well (but its not meant to at this price range)
