Southern Ontario Track Days 2018

Hey guys, I figured I'd create a thread for anyone who is planning on doing track days this season so they can post up when and where they're going and maybe some others can join. There are not many Yaris's that show up to track days around here so it would be good to get some of us together.

TMP out in Cayuga has open track days every Friday from about 5pm until dusk for $100 cash day of or $70 6 days in advance. I plan to head out there every 2 weeks or so on Fridays. It's about 45 mins away from downtown Oakville and Friday evenings tend to be quieter than weekends so you can usually run at your own pace without many other cars getting in the way or blowing by you.

Also, if anyone local does any autox events let me know, I'm looking to get into them and wouldn't mind tagging along with someone

Tentatively I'm thinking about heading out on Friday May 4th for a shakedown/season opener

Let me know who's interested

The wife and I will be out for the evening of May 11th. It's her birthday and she wants to go to the track. :)

We should be out quite a bit at TMP this summer.

Hmm, I might as well head out on the 11th instead of the 4th then.

I just signed up for Wednesday May 9, 5pm start. I'm hoping this will allow me to learn to manual shift better. My white Yaris has only 1200 km on it. I hope there will be other slow cars there that I can follow.

agreed, to become efficient at it I'd recommend doing it any time possible, meaning day to day. There is a lot to focus on during hot laps so a normal commute is perfect time to perfect one skill.

One thing to look out for since M/T is new to you is to avoid a money shift aka throwing the car into a lower gear instead of a higher one. This is a quick way to ruin a potentially fun track day very quickly. If in doubt don't let that clutch out.

Enjoy the lapping, you'll have a great time

Great fun. I wish there were slower cars I could keep up with.
Due to the osteoarthritis in my clutch hip I was limping after 45 min straight lapping.
I'm hoping to passenger in you car to check the Bc coilovers with your spring rate. I had brake dive and wallowing on corner 1.
Over all I had a great time and will go again!
