The amount of oil I saw in video is nowhere near enough to cause the oil level to go down. Unless you have liquid oil dripping on the ground (rather than just weeping down the block), your oil is going elsewhere. Probably being burned in the motor.
How many miles on it, and how much oil is it using per oil change? Cheers. PS: The weeping I saw was probably valve cover, or timing cover. Hard to tell from a video though. |

It has 1550000 miles I bought it 9 months ago and didn't notice the seep till a few weeks ago but I am loosing oil between oil changes I would say it goes down like 1/4 below the full mark my commute is short 8 miles going and back and mostly city driving idk if that's has anything to do with it being burn but I notice the oil was fresh when I touched it right by the exaust manifold I was told that it could be the timing cover leaking

I also read somewhere that it could be a head gasket that is leaking thought the 1 cylinder something like that but my oil cap doesn't look milky or anything I really hope it isn't the head gasket because I don't have that kind of cash right now

how would i go about finding the source of the leak without taking the motor out being that is very little space to work with it such a small car?

From where it is weeping it is most likely the timing cover, but I don't think it's time to fix it yet. Your engine with 155000miles (I assume that's what you meant?) is expected to be burning a bit of oil. From the add mark to the full mark is only around 0.75L (less than a quart). If you are losing less than that per 3000miles, I'd say you are totally fine. Just top up as needed.

It's likely the timing chain cover . Did you check the corners of the valve cover as well . Any leaks there ? If so , both could contribute . Maybe the timing chain cover leak gets worse as the miles pile up . Keep us up to date .

Update
Jus a little quick update I pour some engine uv dye and purchase the yellow glasses kit along with the light and I could see exactly where it was coming out of it was right where the engine meets the head and the timing cover is very slowly I switched to a high mileage oil and it seems to help for now I will continue to drive it as I confirmed with a shop that is indeed the timing cover he said is pretty common for some Toyotas to leak from there actually there is even a tsb on the issue just a heads up in case someone has this seep they quoted me 450 to do a timing reseal by the way

This is my leak. It was the timing chain cover seal. Takes 2hours to redo.

Can you confirm if you have to remove the head to remove the rooming cover? When I replaced the head gasket on my echo I have to remove the timing cover to remove the head but I'm pretty sure the head can stay in when the timing cover is removed.
Just want some clarification
