Oil Question
So I got around 76K on my 3 year old yaris. I use Mobile 1 synthetic, but I was wondering if Mobile 1 75,000 protection actually helps or makes a difference?
Thanks |

Wrong forum for an oil question and NO ONE will have a valid answer as there is not much data. BTW, What is Mobile 1? is that made in Alabama? Or is that a phone lubricant?

seriously, makes not difference.
i use royal purple and use it for 8k miles between my oil changes.. talk about reducing waste by using the oil for a longer period of time. |

I believe Mobil 1 high mileage has extra seal conditioner and cleaning additives. It might help clean the engine if you were running most of those miles on regular non-synthetic oil. If you have been running Mobil 1 for most of the car's life then it might not benefit you. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt anything and from what I've seen, there's no difference in cost vs regular mobil 1. I started using Mobil 1 0W-30 "advanced fuel economy" though that's just marketing for OW oil. After the last oil change from the dealer of regular oil, the engine was sounding a bit louder after 4K miles and I noticed that when I opened my door I could actually see it vibrating. Soon after I decided to do my own oil change w/ Mobil 1 and the noticeable vibration on my door disappeared. I'm sure Mobil 1 isn't the best oil out there but its widely available and the price is decent.

Like OtownYaris mentioned, if you've been using Mobil 1 I doubt that you'll need to switch to their high mileage version. Your motor probably doesn't have much buildup and the condition of your seals are probably fine.
