prepurchase questions -Yaris 1.5 automatic

Hey there folks . I am looking into purchase of a 2009 Yaris lift back , the N American Yaris 1.5 model .

Has the automatic transmission been reliable in these cars ? I know a man who has an Echo 1.5 and the engine has been good to date with no problems . Has that been the norm with the Yaris with regards to the engine ?

Thanks

08 LB - 24,000 miles,AT, no problems other than TPMS sensor went bad, but might have been damage from tire shop. Got replaced under warranty, I very fun car I must say.
