Too low to go
I know I am a newbie here and most of the time I be just sitting back watching everyones post and drooling over the Mods..
Now it is my turn.... I come from a long history of trucks and my philosophy is " If you can't walk under it, it is to low to go. I am getting ready to install a light duty hitch on my 5dr LB ( I plan on hauling a Vespa scoot around and a few other light objects) and my request is simple... How do I get this thing up? Longer stiffer spring? ( where to get them ) Air shocks? ( again where?) Coil spring spacers like I had on my 4Runner ( again where?) My ultimate goal is to get it up about 6" install a front brush guard and install a spare tire carrier over the liftback, much like the older Pathfinders. Thanks in advance from hopefully the first Yaris micro SUV... |

up?...
suppose you could get airbags and leave them all the way inflated, but that would suck. |

Thanks,
The biggest issue with that would be trying to align the front end... Maybe a machine shop could come up with a strut extension like I used to use on shocks and leaf spring extenders... Probably just a pipe dream.... I could probably close my eyes while driving and pretend I am sitting higher.... |

Haven't seen any discussion regarding lifting a Yaris. Sounds like custom work to me.
Perhaps a spring shop (heavy truck business) could wind some taller coils for you but you'll be limited by the range of motion provided by the Yaris suspension geometry. More custom work??? Might be cheaper and easier to simply buy a mini pick-up.

OP are you really serious or you on here to haggle us. Some people have installed hitches on their Yarii and I have seen pictures of one hauling a motorcycle didn't really look like it was squatting very much. I have mine lowered 2 inches and went to Home Depot to get some stuff for landscaping ended up buying bricks, soil, mulch, peat moss, and a bunch of plants ended up being over 800lbs of stuff. my wheels were tucked in my rear wheel wells looked cool and the only time I rubbed in the rear was when I went over the Rail Road tracks by my house. You will be able to haul with out lifting the Yaris but if you really want to go that route PM user Rockland_Toyota he can get you some TRD Offroad stickers

You can put 20" on a Yaris look up an old member name spkrman I think is his name he put 20's on his car. Use the search bar and look up 20" wheels or rims it should pull it up

I am serious.
I am a truck person at heart but due to economy I had to get a 30+ mpg vehicle. I still think this would look good raised up a little more and with the brush guards..... I like "The Fast and the Furious" but I am more of the "Mad Max" mentality.. |

You just need to get rid of the fenders, then there's plenty of clearance for bigger wheels.
Having recently done some creative suspension rework on my eBay crashed Yaris, I noticed that in the front you could add about 4" without too much trouble, by using longer struts and springs. The inner tripod joints wouldn't be super happy, but you can pick up complete axles on eBay for under $80, so you could consider them to be 20,000 mile consumables. |
