Got a flat :(

I started off the New Year with a flat tire at 3am lol
I was driving off a bridge and drove into a deep pot hole. About a 1/4 mile later i noticed my tire was flat. The rim is fine.

I've had my sedan since May '08 and have over 27,000 miles on it 50% hwy and 50% city I would say. Some aggressive driving from time to time.

Is it time for a set of new tires?
Which should I get? I do need winter tires for NY but I dont have anywhere to store them when the Spring comes.

Which all season tires would you guys recommend. I might head to Sears tomorrow.

Thanks!

It depends on the tread remaining really. Some people get 15,000 out of the first tires, some people get 50,000. Did you replace or repair the flat? If you replaced it I would at least change the one on the other side too. One old tire and one new tire is no good for the tires, alignment, balancing, or really anything. If you just repaired and all tires still have sufficient tread, there's no reason to change yet(unless you're going to winter tires)

I replaced the flat with the spare toyota provided when I got the car. If I have to replace the tire I might just buy them all new so I wont have to worry about them all for a while.

Check out the Michelin "Harmony" AS tires.
They get great reviews (they excell in all catagories) and come in the stock Yaris size. They are what I'm getting this spring.

They are about $100 a tire. However if my past and present experience with Miichelins is any indicator, they are well worth it.

I reached 55,000 before changing my front ones. I replaced them with Yokohamas.

You can always check by using the penny or quarter test. Here is the link that maybe helpful for ya:

I am very happy with my yokohama's so far. they handle a lot better than i would expect from inexpensive dealer tires.

If you can afford winter boots look for a dealer who will store them in the off-season. Then wait until spring to mount up some sticky sneakers.

What brand is the stock tires? They definitely feel a lot looser in the winter than the much wider tires on my old car..
