driving impressions

I love my little black Yaris LB, I've had 6 cars in my 15 years of driving, from Wranglers to Mercedes, 90s civics, Mustang v8s lately I've owned convertibles exclusively and I can say no car is perfect BUT the Yaris... considering it's price point and fuel efficiency, design, quality, ride and comfort is very very impressive.

I showed it to my car designer friends and they were . The interior is very stylish, yes some interior bits feel thin but the door (tho big) feels solid and 'thumps' like a lexus.

at first I thought the door is too big but opening it feels weighty and very 'safe'. The door handle actuator feels robust. I perused the honda lot and most of their door handles feel hollow and a bit cheap. (dunno why I have so much to write about the door )

ok the insider of the door , my criticisms is the door lock switch, it's not finger friendly, secondly the off-the-shelf window crank doesn't match the interior design, luckly its out of the way... speaking of the crank it gets in the way of a bottle water if one is in the holder.

I just came out of a Toy pickup and love my little YARIS! I too have owned just about everything, but find this Toy satisfying to say the least.

I drink alot of water, and thought that bottle holder would be handy, but in practice its way out of the way and difficult to get to with my big legs... particularly in the seating position the steering wheel puts me in.

It has its quirks, but agreed, sweet car :)

Funny you mentioned the door locks/windows. I noticed that the locks especially seemed really odd. LuckilyMy girlfriend's Yaris has power so we don't have to deal with it. However, even the power stuff is wierd, because the passenger door doesn't have a lock switch. Instead, the passenger has to reach down next to the aux jack...

I'm spending the night in SF tonight, and the gas station by the hotel is 3.89 for regular. Thank god we'll be able to make it back to Sac before we need to fill up again.

I lived in WLA for 7 years , near Wilshire and Bundy. I miss the WLA-SM vibe... $3.79 a gallon that's crazy

I've only lived in TX about a year, personally I don't get the texan thing, people here are REALLY pround of their state, flags everywhere. People are super friendly especially away from pretentous DFW, the weather.... that's another thread LOL
