HID's pointing into the trees???

Well, After a few hours of reading the forums....I am left confused? Bought a "plug and play" HID kit for my yaris. That is HID bulbs and Ballast only. I Installed it all and went for a night drive and the lights are pointing in the trees...WAY to high! So, i started reading the forums and found I need to replace the whole frigging light assembly with a "projector" style. But, then i come across other posts where some guys have just put the HID lights in the stock headlight assembly?

What am I missing? Are some guys driving around with their headlights pointing on the hillside? Is there a quick trick I am missing like spacing the HID bulb out, or up, or down? I think the HID bulb in my kit is a 9003 and the ebay seller claims it is a "direct replacement" for the stock H4 bulb?

Something ain't right! Bulb is too long or something? The "reflector" style headlight in the yaris is obviously very sensitive to bulb position.

Sounds like the bulb isn't seated in the headlight properly...

You have hid high and lows with a relay harness or halogen high beams?

You have to aim the beam pattern by messing with the adjustments on the back of the headlight housing.

When I bought my HID's I had the same problem. All I did to fix it was adjust the head light lens, to make them even on the road.

actually it depends on which state. I'd be shocked if cali didn't make it illegal. In MA soon they are going to outlaw all aftermarket hid kits no matter who makes them.

Actually, I bet it IS illegal in all states since I believe headlights are under federal jurisdiction...

really? I've never seen a federal automobile inspection, a federal police car searching the roads for lawbreakers, or any fed really caring about cars.

Anyways at this point auto's is one of the few places states laws matter more, since they run inspections, and their cops enforce the laws.
