make sure you run your network setup wizard. i'm sure you were previously part of a workgroup. that means you can access the network but not the internet.

If ur dsl works on a direct connection to a computer and when u plug it into a router, it don't work.

1- DSL dont support router.
2- Router don't support DSL model.
3- Router isn't set-up properly.
4- Your computer isn't set-up properly.

On step 3 which should be step 1.
look in the router book, go to the administrator account. it should start with 192.168.2.1, put that in ur browser. since everthing is default, look in ur router book again for default pass. usually user: admin, administrator or just nothing to input. password: admin, administrator or nothing to input also.

Note" everything I saw is in the book.

1. Once your in, first thing first, change your password and user name.
2. There should be an option that shows if the router is receiving the IP from the modem, look in manual where it shows.
3. If router receive it all, there should be something confirming it that it is "connected" to the web. At this point your computer should be able to get online.
If it doesn't go online, its step-4 for you. Thats a little 2 steep to explain over the web. But try this, go to your start, internet connection, and make sure your computer is receiving an IP address : 192.168.2.2 (2.3, 2.4, etc etc)

hope that helps...try that to see if it fixes ur thing.

btw put a password on your router, or I can come over by ur house and get on your router, download lots of child pornography and have cops coming to u.
