Question How much will it cost to fix this? (scratched bumper)

I watch this guy pull out behind my parked Yaris, I knew he wasnt gonna clear it, nudged my car and took off luckly my neighbor knows him and trying to track him down. (btw I was not parked on the red curb, I shot the pic at an angle)

7 inch scratch, thru the paint, what do you guys think? it's been a while since I filed a claim with a insurance company, what to expect?

Thanks, one thing I regret not doing was videotaping this (lesson learned) I was watching this outside my window and trying to memorize his license plate number , my Android was on the table.

You can fix this yourself and make virtually less noticable.
1. Use rubbing compound to remove marks made, either by hand,or
with a buffer.
2.Buy touch-up paint and carefully touch-up deep scratches,
use a fine brush.
3. Let dry
4.Finish with a good wax.

That's not too bad. Get a touch up pen from toyota. The pens have paint/clear. After you use the clear side, get some wet sand paper (2000 grit) and cut it down a bit, then polish.

does not even look like it dented anything, mainly aesthetic. Not even worth an insurance claim/deductible. You can fix it yourself.

Or if you can find who this guy is, go get a very high estimate, then tell him to pay you in cash or you will file a police report.

Thanks for the replies, being a 5 yr old car and black color it's not noticeable so I won't repaint but filing a claim really depends on my mood when I see the guy (still can't find him).

He was driving a Vanilla Ice 5.0 (older style with wrap around body moulding), being a manual he was rocking the car back and forth waiting for traffic to clear. He had plenty of space to roll back for more clearance but decided to be a hero. I'm sure he felt the contact I saw my car shake a little.

Anyhow I want to talk to the guy and let him know he didn't 'get away' with anything... so this doesn't happen to anyone else. Sure we all make mistakes as long as we learned from it, that's enough justice for me.

I've had worse scratches from Wal-mart parking lots and my college parking garage.. A little bit of Meguiar's ScratchX 2.0 will make it go away no problem.
