Is this offensive?

So after I get my Yaris all Netz'ed, Vitz'ed and suspension upgraded, I am thinking about putting this on the belt line on ether side of the car using Japanese Kanji "White people like Japanese cars too." But I don't want to send the wrong message. My "Ex" is Japanese and can translate for me, but I don't know any Japanese past "thank you". Anyway, would love opinions on this. Thanks all.

Unless you're in Japan where they use Kanji...I doubt anyone will even know what it means.
The people who would be offended by it probably wouldn't be able to read it anyway.
I can see a few people getting offended by it, because it could sound like you're saying other races of people don't like Japanese cars, which could sound like you're discriminating.

Personally, I would put something like "Americans like Japanese cars too". It sounds more friendly and non-specific imo.
If you really want to you can, I don't think anyone will know what it means anyway, and you'll probably be getting a lot of "What does that say?"

Maybe you could neutralize the issue by changing it to "Japanese (or shorten it to just JDM) at heart". I don't see how it can cause any harm to anyone that way.

Thats cool. Thanks for the feedback. I figure folks will ask me what it says they are already going to be asking what kind of car I have after I get it rebadged.

"JDM at heart" is a great idea. I like the idea of talking about the car and less about me. I totally dig the Japanese culture & people, but I would not say that "I" am Japanese at heart. That is a much better idea! Thank you.
