Yaris starting noise
Hello everyone, my yaris sedan 2010 with automatic transmission has the automatic starting, and 3 days ago once it started, the starter didn't shut off and there was a grinding noise for another second, and it sounds horrible, well you guys can imagine. I did some reasearch and apparently the relay is what I should be looking at, anybody want to confirm this or has had the same problem, it only happens in the morning and only with engine completely cold, thank you in advance

What do you mean by automatic starting?

Hey thanks for the reply, automatic starting meaning that instead of holding the key forward till the car starts, you just have to move it to start and let it go and the car cranks by itself for however long it takes to start.

OK Thanks
The only starter relay that I am aware of is the solenoid on the starter itself. The only way I can think of to diagnose the problem is with a volt meter. Hook it to the crank wire, start the car. The voltage should go to 12 volts and drop the second the car starts. If the starter is still working after the voltage goes away, solenoid problem.

Thanks for the reply, there is a relay on the engine fuse box, i did the continuity check and has continuity, but have not done the click test with a battery. I will try to do the starter solenoid test, and keep you guys up to date :)
