Rear Wheel Shims... How do they work?

Hey guys,

I had a question. When you order a Rear Camber Shim Kit, Does it come with one shim or a few shims? In the picture it shows 3. If it comes with 3, are they different sizes in thickness?

I'm guessing it needs to be installed at the alignment shop so they can install the one that's needed?

I'm planning on lowering my XA soon and was wondering how it works and if I should do the work myself.

Thanks

I received 2 of single shim in the package, I'm not sure how to put it on since I have the rear discs conversion .... So I'll let my local shop to do the installation.

2 Single Shims? How would they know how thick you need them or how many degrees off the camber would be? Wouldn't a thicker shim be needed if the car is lowered say 2" opposed to 1 inch?

if you are going to get a shim kit for the rear your best bet is the SPC brand #75800 EZ shim -1.5 to +1.5 degree adjustable
corrects camber and (or) caster issues

Darn. I ordered the Eibach Kit. They use the same picture on various websites.

What's the difference?

Eibach
http://mudflaps.com/i-7234562-eibach...amber-kit.html

SPC
http://www.fastscions.com/spc-perfor...006-75800.aspx

They also seem to have the Same model number (SPC 75800 VS Eibach 75800K)

Did a little more searching. I found some info on Eibach.com, I entered part number 5.75800K and found a downloadable PDF. I searched the part number on the PDF and found:

"5.75800K Rear + / - 1.50". Looks like it's the same part offered by SPC.

Does anyone have their Yaris dropped 2" without any camber kit at all? I'm itching to install my Sportline springs but the F&R Camber kit are on backorder for about a week.

I installed them without the camber kits and it's not a huge difference. I'm still going to have it aligned when I get the kits.

I've had mine dropped 2" without camber for about 4 years.

It'll be five years in August for mine lowered 2" w/o camber.

Thanks guys. You convinced me to just install them without the camber kit. I still plan on installing it and having it aligned when I receive it.

Here are some pics I took today.

how durable are the camber shims? I mean, how long can you use them before it needs to be replaced since they are plastic? thanks
