Performed Meguires 3 Step Process today 3 Words HOLY FREAKING CRAP!!!! - Toyota Yaris Forums

Okay so first i will say i am completely sold on this process. I wish today was sunny but its a cloudy day i will try to take some more pictures when its sunny. You dont need to use any type of dish soap such as dawn to strip the wax. Just the 3 step process. 4th step would be claybar if you wish to do this first. I only claybared the hood and top of vehicle since there was a tiny bit of debri.

First i applied cleaner wax. Once i was done i then applied the polish the step 2. After the polish was done you could really see the shine. Also the car was squeeky clean. kinda how a dish is when you finish cleaning it with dish soap. So i would assume step 1 and 2 removed all coats of wax that i had on the vehicle. Then finally applied meguires nxt 2.0 wax. This is only the first layer i plan to apply 3 more layers over the corse of 2 more days allowing 24 hours for it to cure and harden between.

Then i will hit it with a high quality carnuba wax for even more depth and shine.

But so far i am liking the results. Took me a total of about 2.5 hours from start to finish with few breaks.

Oh yeah i forgot to mention the best part. No more microscratches in the clear coat. The car looks better than the day i purchased it. Even in good light at a angle you see no surface scratches at all whatsoever. Its back to perfect showroom condition =)

I've heard of it but dont know if it even works that great.

Ive claybared my car several times. I am amazed at the dirt and filth it lifts off the paint every several months.

Nope no touch up whatsoever i dont even have photoshop on my computer. Just used gimp to resize them. I plan to keep the car in my garage for 2 days while i rewax. And just drive my acura. Plus i checked the weather and its supose to rain really soon. So going to keep it garaged while i finished the detail and bring it out when its nice and sunny. Nxt 2.0 supose to required 12 hours to fully cure and should not be exposed to liquids.

I am very anxiouse how the final coat of wax will come out especially on a very sunny day. I need to get a good digital camera im using my cel phone to take the pics

that is a freaking amazing job...
i wax using nxt tech wax 2.0 and it is a breeze to work with.... and it smells kinda nice....hehe

claying is a great process, it makes the car silky smooth... once in a month and you will be amazed at the smoothness

Yeah, if you don't have a garage the results only last a few days and it hardly seems worth the effort.

Doing the whole process start to finish makes a MASSIVE difference. I think half the reason people like Zaino wax so much is that they really encourage you to do the whole process (strip wax, clay, wax, polish, polish).

As your pics show, you can get an amazing shine if you take the time and do it right.

The car looks great, dont get me wrong, but to properly do the 3 step, should take more then 2 1/2 hours. Exp if by hand. Thats basically just putting it on, and wiping it off, no working it in and correcting anything in the paint.
Just to properly polish a car with a DA i can and do spend 2+ hours, and thats just doing polish, no wash, no paint clean, and no wax. Especially when waxing should be a minimum 30 minute process.
And if thats all you did, you basically cleaned the paint, and waxed it. And most freshly washed and waxed cars will look that good, especially in none direct sunlight, seems to be a bit cloudy.

I'm really not trying to be an jerk, but I dont want people to get the wrong impression about what the 3 step can achieve in that sort of time.

I have been detailing cars for years so have it down to a system. Anyone else would expect to probally take another 30min to a hour longer than i did so say 3-3.5 hours. The cleaner wax you can allow it to haze but the polish you are supose to work a panel at a time and do not allow it to dry.

The final coat of wax does need to allowed to be haze which believe it or not if its a hot and sunny day can take as little as 30 seconds if not a couple of minutes. You are putting on a very THIN coat. Not heavy. My bottle of wax has lasted me over 2 years and i have done several cars.

You got it right. You want to let the nxt cure for atleast 12 hours before the carnuba.

Final step make sure you get a rubber and plastic polish and detail all the black trim like around the wiper blades and the tire rubber. Also clean inside and outside of glass with stoners invisible glass.

I actually have special micofiber clothes ones for interior, exterior, and glass. Also 3 seperate wax applicators for each step. And drying towels.

Make sure not to mix your microfiber cloths for removing wax with the ones that you use to clean your windows when you was them or you may get wax residue on your inside glass which you will find out later at night.
