Think your dealer is giving you wrong info or should be more helpful on locating the car YOU want. Just try another dealer and see if you have better luck.
You can also go to the other dealers web site and check their inventory. Kevin |

There seems to be a lot of confusion on the dealer's end about these cars. Grrr!

Since the car just began advertisment in the U.S. They are comin out with to many features now. I seen a couple of yaris with power and many without.. hopefully that will change soon. you just gotta keep looking and dont take the dealers word for it and do you own walking around the lot. the car doors are usually open anyways!

Power is harder to get with Yaris, and in my opinion is not worth the $$$, it only gives you something else that can break down and tear up. Crank windows are cool and fun,and safer, but thats just me :)
Ask,him to order you one or try the next dealer,or even go to the next state, you can get power if you want it :) Happy Yaris Hunting!!!! YotaYarisUSA |

Power
Do you want the split, fold flat, tilting, adjustable rear seat? You have to get the power package to get the premium rear seat. That alone is ,nearly, worth the extra $600. If they throw in the power windows and locks it is a bonus. Keyless entry then for only $200 more.
Also the side mirrors are power. No rolling down the window everytime the wife drives the car. Another plus Sounds worth the $ |

That's what I used to think; I have a 1998 Subaru Forester and approaching it's tenth year of use, not a lick of problem with the power windows. I wasn't planning on getting the power package with the Yaris, but I really needed the 60/40 fold-flat, sliding seats in the HB to make it work for me; I would by lying if I said that I didn't like the convenience of the power. Just wish I could have gotten cruise control (I still may add one aftermarket if it really bothers me on my long trip in June). As an aside, TDS12, where did you get your avatar? So very hot. |

thats why everybody shouldve got the sedan S baby yeeeaah (autin powers voice). It automatically comes with all the premium seating and with a sportier look. (even doe it just as slow as the liftback and regular sedan) but hey it still looks sweet!!!

Indeed. Unfortunately that busted up Ford was the only rig anyone would give me as a loaner for free. The windows are just the tip of the iceberg, believe me. I'm awaiting my 3-door Yaris hatch with great anticipation.

I think I should start a forum, for ppl that like the don't like power options, its not that I really don't like that, its that I just don't see it being worth it for the Yaris,I think Toyota is asking to much $$,to add them right now. As,the Yaris gets more popular etc,I'm sure they will come out with different packages and better options, but 1,700 something for power window, and the other stuff is just too much, in my opinion. I never use cruise, abs not needed on small car like the Yaris. Like I said before,it takes away from the price value of the Yaris, if I max it out with all that stuff,I might was well get a Camry,Fusion,or Mazda 3.
The Yaris caught,my eye, bc of the cheap price and great fuel! I'm taking this car home for $14,137! I bet next year, the 2008 Yaris will have leather seats, sunroof, power everything, sirius, subwoofers, all the works, I bit you can get one up to 20,000 bucks or more! But,hey what ever floats your boat, if you are happy getting all power everything then thats great go for it. Just spilling out my 2 cents worth :) Anyone want to join, my now power ,crank windows club? YotaYarisUSA |

Power side mirrors are OK, but RARELy used by anyone except people who are sharing cars (=not me). ABS only helps those who don't have Super Driving Skills like me :P I can outbrake a C5 corvette in the rain with a stock, non-ABS 240SX..it's all about knowing the limitations of your tires and a decently neutral weight balance..ABS helps those who overreact and slam on the brakes when something surprises them, IMO The 15" Power Package Steel / Alloy wheels are pretty lame looking, and the tires are still cheapos. For $600 i can put on 15" , 11 pound Falken wheels and tires (Falken Ziex 512 Ultra high Performance AllSeason rating) on and my performance will increase overall. Cruise would be nice, though.. I agree..it's the pure economics of this type of car. $10,950 + 550 Delivery doesn't sound bad for a stripped down Egg. Add $1600 for Power package and $550 for the lame Floor Mats, Mud Guards (which you can get MUCH cheaper online from ToyotaPartsDirect) you're getting near $14000..you can get a sweet looking 2006 Civic DX Coupe w/ power windows and MUCH MORE for MSRP $15,055..(btw, Brown Toyota in Arlington, Viriginia sells their Civic Coupe DX for less than $13,700!!!!). I'm going to start referring to the "CONVENIENCE PACKAGE" as the "Convenient for Toyota to list this as an option so that they could say their vehicle costs less than $11,000 Package". hmm..it's not an option on ANY Yaris Liftbacks in the USA as of yet, and to be honest with you, HOW IS A FREAKING REAR WIPER CONVENIENT??!! umm..here in Texas I just wash my rear window regularly and apply RainX..and i've never had problems even on 6 different fastbacks (300ZXs, 240SXs,civic hatck) and 4 SUV's. And, anti-fog strips on the rear window only reduce visibility worse than fog..some RainX antifog and knowing how to use your Vents/Defrost to reduce fog is something that all drivers should know.. Feel free to flame me, Everyone has their Perspectives and Reasons for why it works for their specific application/situation. But, some people make a decision on which car to buy based on the "basics" which most cars INCLUDE as STANDARD EQUIPMENT nowadays...then they just start adding on whatever packages/options they want without respect to the final price... Personally, i wanted the most stripped down Yaris Liftback as a grocery getter and to drive for work/school to keep miles off my Fully Loaded Lexus. I'm also using it to test-fit aftermarket parts for a few companies, and will be entered in SCCA after they classify it and I can get TEIN suspension, a decent clutch, front and rear diffusers, and oil cooler setup :P So, all in all, every add on is worthless to me..except maybe the spoiler and fog lights...and i'm pretty sure the spoiler is non-functional.. |

Bahahahaha, count me in the crank windows club! I was thinkin' about the same thing when I got mine. No power package nothin', the only thing that is truly "NEEDED" is my A/C.
