What Class

I run ST which is about the same as STS, but in the Equipe Rapide group STS is 2 seats.

AFE Cold Air Intake
TRD Struts and Springs
TRD Rear Sway bar
TRD SS
TRD Exhaust
Just got my NST UD pulley
Konig 17/17.5
Kumo Exta MX 215/40

Still a bit of push in turns, need stickier tires to real well. Real fun anyway!!!

Great question. I'm looking to start autocrossing myself this year. Which class would I run? Please refer to mods below.

The stock Bridgestones are not terrible , they just don't last long .

Here are the rules

http://cms.scca.com/documents/Solo_R...Solo_Rules.pdf

and just look for your region

http://www.scca.org/home.aspx

Word to the wise , its better to learn on cheap tires . That way when you actually get sticky tires you will see huge improvements after you learn the handling characteristics of your car . Also I highly recommend a second set of wheel/tires just for autox only . You could probably do double duty (Full season autox and street driving) for a year on stock tires , but you will need new tires next year .

Bump, so did you ever go racing? And BTW, unless your friends drive like doodoo, hondas can't be easily beat by a yaris.

I run ST, which is similar to STS but not two seats. Equipe Rapide has a class list that you can compare to the modifications you make. I believe it is based on the SCCA rules. www.autocross.com/ER I hope this will help as well. Your header mod may move you up a class, not sure.

Greg

STS2 is for two seaters
STS is for non two seaters
STX is for cars over 2.5L and/or helical LSD

that's assuming they follow SCCA Solo2 classing.

sounds like they don't.

OP,
lots of local clubs have variations on the SCCA classing based on the turnout.

example: shit tons of Turbo Civics on street tires show up they may enforce a SMS (street tire Street Modified) so the poor civics aren't up against the turbo AWD 285 tire equipped S4s.
